Chapter One: What Might Have Been

As you start the game, this first chapter will be a simple tutorial to show you how to climb walls, swing and jump. If you aren’t familiar with the previous Spiderman game, do some additional moves to get used to the controller and directions. Simply follow the on screen instructions and do what Bruce Campbell, your instructor, tells you to do.

Chapter Two: A Day in the Life

When the chapter starts you will still be in tutorial mode. Jump off the building and you will learn about swinging around. After you are told to swing around town a bit, a scene will play and you will be required to stop some thugs that held up an arcade. Make your way down to the thugs and give them a good pounding. After you are done with them, return to the arcade owner and you will then be required to hit the spidey store to buy an upgrade. Once you purchase the web swing speed increase a scene will play and you will be introduced to Doc Octavious in a scene.

Chapter Three: Punctuality is the Thief of Time

As this chapter starts, you need to swing across town to meet with the one and only Doc. Connors. Swing your way North West over toward the destination marker and when you are almost there, Peter will start talking and a woman will scream. Now you have a new objective and the good doctor will have to wait. Go to the new destination marker and there will be a group of thugs robbing a woman. Take them out and then you need to pop the left thug who is trying to escape. As he runs by, give him webbing and pull him to you. Give him a few shots and he’ll go down. Now that you have the case, run it over to the woman to return it. Now you can make your way to doctor Connors again. Head down the street a little ways to the destination marker.



After you reach it and change a scene will play and Doc will ask you about your paper on Doc. Octavius. Once the scene is over you will have new mission objectives that you need to accomplish. They are to get to the Pizza parlor and to earn 2000 hero points. Either of these objectives can be done whenever you like and there really is no rush to do them but I preferred to do the pizza mission right away just to get it out of the way. It’s a simple mission where you have 2 minutes to swing a few blocks down and then swing back to the parlor. After a bit you will tell yourself that you were supposed to meet Harry and MJ. Follow the blue marker to where they are. Once you reach it, a short scene will play to remind you of the story. Afterwards you will be on the roof talking about cake. Now you can go back and do the pizza parlor mission if you haven‘t already or just do random tasks on the street until you have 2000 points. Once you have them all, you will need to go meet MJ.



Swing your way over to her and during the scene with her you’ll notice some thugs breaking into a building. When the scene is over, head across the street and enter the art gallery. There will be 8 enemies inside, 3 on the left and right and 2 upstairs. The two upstairs will have guns so you may want to use extra care with them. Once all the thugs are down for the count, a scene will play and you will be introduced to The Black Cat. After the scene you need to follow her from rooftop to rooftop. There will be a meter that appears and it will show the distance from you to her. If you get too far behind her, the mission fails. Stick close and follow the white trail she leaves and the arrow that will be around you point where she went. Black cat will stop three times and the last time will trigger another scene and end the chapter.

Chapter 4: All in a Days Work

When the chapter starts, Bruce will let you know about the spidey store being updated at the start of each chapter. Head on over there now and purchase the level 2 swing speed. Once you have it, head for the white destination marker on the map and land on the roof of the building where the marker is. Walk up to the gray air conditioning vents on the roof and one will open when you are close to it. Enter and you will be inside the washroom of the Daily Bugle. Go out the door to the hallway and head down the hall to the newsroom. Go to the left and talk to Betty and she will let you know how JJ is doing. After you r scene with JJ, Robbie will come up to you and say that he wants some high pictures taken of the city.



Head back to the washroom and change your clothes and you will be on the roof again. Check your map now and you will see where the spots are that Robbie pointed out. When you reach the building where the first photo spot is, it may be a bit tricky to find since the spot is on the side of the building. Once you take the first one, there will be 4 more to take and they will get higher and higher each time. The last one will be from the very top of the building and you’ll get a skyscraper token as well. Once you have the five photos, head back to the Daily Bugle and enter the air vent on the roof again. Head down the hall and talk to Robbie and JJ and leave after the scene.



When you change clothes in the washroom again and are back on the roof, there will be an explosion and a boss fight will be about ready to start. After the scene you will be in a showdown with the Rhino. As intimidating as he is, you get introduced to 2 new powers here to make it much easier, your spidey sense and you spider reflexes. Use them how you are instructed and Rhino will be no tougher then the regular street thug. Once he is down, or up as this case is, you will need to finish earning the rest of your 3000 hero points to end the chapter.

Chapter Five: A Meeting of the Minds

As the chapter begins your new objectives will appear. Head to doctor Octavius’ apartment first and you will be introduced properly to the good doctor. After the scene is over with him, you are back outside and have the two simple missions still left to accomplish of getting 2000 more hero points and buying the next upgrade from the store. Go and get the Grapple upgrade first and then you can concentrate on fighting the random street crime until you have 2000 points to end the chapter.

Chapter Six: Cat and Mouse

When this chapter starts, you are told about the photo op tokens. Since you have already used them in Robbie little quest you should know what they look like already. Other than that, your other objectives are to go to MJ’s apartment, earn 2000 more hero points and buy the level 3 swing upgrade from the store. For starters head to the store and buy the upgrade. Once you have it, make your way to Greenwich Village and to MJ’s apartment. When you get there, she will have left you a note and asks for you to meet her at the movie theater. Make your way there within the short time allowed and change your clothes.



After the seemingly very short movie, make your way through Greenwich Village towards the first photo op token. When you get close to the first one, you will then see all the other 4 in a circle around the area. Grab all four and after you do another scene plays and the Black Cat reappears on top of a jewelry store that is being robbed. Just like the previous encounter, you will need to swing from building to building and try to keep up with her. She doesn’t stop quite so often this time and it can be a bit trickier. When you do eventually catch up with her, another scene plays and you will receive 1000 hero points afterwards. If this doesn’t put you over the 2000 needed, then go fight some more random crime until you have enough to complete the chapter.

Chapter Seven: Pride and Prejudice

When the chapter starts, make your way to the Bugle and enter through the vent on the roof. A scene will play and Jameson will tell Parker to get to the sports arena and get pics of the Spiderman vs. Quentin Beck fight. It seems Mr. Beck is setting up some activities to prove that Spiderman is a phony. Make your way to the sports arena and enter when you get there. Now a fun little game will begin to play where there are three pits and a whole lot of convicts. You need to web and grab convicts and put them in the pit with the green light. There will be three rounds and Quentin will try to match you point for point up until the end.



The easiest way to win is to grab the convicts by pressing Y and B together to web and grab them and then jump into the green lit pit and press Y to drop them. Immediately jump out and press Y and B together and you’ll grab the next convict. If after 3 rounds you tie Beck, then you be in a sudden death showdown and the first person to score 4 convicts win. After this little game there is another one which is a little more difficult. It is a gauntlet of sorts where you will have to move across moving platforms and stay hidden from Beck and his laser. If Beck spots you and shoots you three times, you fail. For the first part, as soon as the gauntlet starts, run across behind the walls that are starting to drop. Jump on the green lighted switch at the end and give the button there a smack. Stay on the platform and it will move to the next position. From here you will need to climb up and over to the next switch.



Give that switch a hit and then you will move to the next positions which you can simply grab the wall and crawl to the other side undetected. Wait as the platform moves once again and it will now move to a row of blocks where every alternating block will turn. Move across the series of blocks one at a time and allow the one ahead to turn before moving across to it. If you move to the next block when it flips the wrong way, Beck will see you and nail you. Once you make it across that one, the next will be a series of blocks that move up and down which can be easily crawled across. Hold on as the platform moves down one last time and this set of moving platforms looks to be the trickiest. It is actually the easiest though. From the platform you arrive on, simply sprint forward a few steps towards the destination marker and charge jump and you will clear your way right across the arena to the platform on the other side. When you land, hit the switch and a scene will trigger showing Beck’s humiliation and a sneaky convict in the background. Afterwards you’ll receive 1500 points for the games. Now all you need is 3000 points in total and the chapter will end.

Chapter 8: Sugar and Spice

From the start of this chapter, immediately head over to Doc Ock’s apartment and stop at a spidey store along the way if possible to grab the webswing 4 Upgrade. Once you get to Octavious’ apartment a scene will play and then boot you back outside. When you are back in control, you realize that you need to get to Mary Jane’s play. You now have 3:20 on the clock to get your butt to the theatre. Of course there’s always trouble a brewing when you need to meet MJ and this is no exception. When you get close to the theater a store will blow up and there will be a gang of thugs in front of it as well as a sniper on the roof. Head to the crime scene and take out the sniper first.



Don’t throw him off the roof but keep him up there and beat the snot out of him. When he goes down, there will be 5 more thugs down on the street. The nice and easy to deal with them is to walk to the edge of the roof and press Y and B and you will shoot a web down and snag one of them and bring the thug up to you. Beat him up and do the same to the next thug. Pull them up to you one by one. When they are all taken out a scene will play and you’ll be on the ground talking to a civilian. A truck will pull up with another sniper in the back and it will drive off as he fires. Chase after it and press Y and B to pull the gun man out of the back of the truck and beat him up. When he’s down, go after the truck and two more guards will exit. Take care of them and you will then be ready to go to MJ’s play. Make your way to it and a scene will play as you approach it with your new friend Black Cat.



After another small game of Cat and Mouse…er …Spider. This time the chase is no more difficult than others were and no longer either. When you finally catch up with Cat, she will show you where the thugs are and will join you in the battle. Jump down and take out the thugs and Cat will give you a hand. When all the thugs are down for the count, the cat and the statue will both be gone. After another scene the chapter will end if you have enough hero points. If not, you will need to do your random acts of kindness to get 3000 points to complete it.

Chapter 9: When Aliens Attack

As the chapter starts, it seems easily enough with your only objective being to go talk to Jameson. Enter the daily Bugle and a scene will play and Jameson will tell you that Beck wants to challenge you again. Head back out through the washroom and head for the destination marker. When you reach it head inside the building and up through the doorway at the top of the stairs to enter a theater that is on fire. A scene will play and you’ll be introduced to Mysterio. Now the reporters inside will be in trouble and you need to save them. There are also a few robots flying around that fire green bolts at you that are pretty damaging.



When the mission starts, take out the first robot close to you and head over to the right side. Charge jump across to the next balcony and there will be another robot there. Take it out and press Y to grab the reporter who is hanging off the edge. When you pull him up, leave him on the balcony and charge jump across the room to the next balcony. Grab the reporter hanging here as well and drop him off. Now your best bet is to take out the rest of the robots flying around that you can reach. Hop down on the stage where Mysterio is and a few more reporters. Take out the robots here and you can start to work on saving the reporters with out being attacked.



Grab a reporter and jump up to the left or right and shoot a web under the balcony there. Swing forward and press the left trigger to get you higher in your swing and you should be able to make the far balcony where you entered from. If you don’t land on it, you can just shoot another web back towards the stage and then back to the balcony again to get higher. When you land, drop of the reporter and go back and grab the rest. When you have all of the reporters safe and sound you will need to take out the rest of the robots. There will probably be two left that you need to fight. Let them come to you and take them out. When they are down, make your way outside and Mysterio will have taken over the Statue of Liberty. He will tell you to take your time and since there is no counter you can.



When you get to the waterfront you’ll see the statue of Liberty is now a giant Mysterio. There will be some pods that are in the air and make a line from the city to the statue. What you are supposed to do is swing from pod to pod until you reach the island. I preferred to go to the right and hop on top of the building that a helicopter will pass over. Watch the helicopter as it comes towards the city and the path it takes and jump up to the roof of the building it passes over. When is over head, web the bottom of it and hold onto your web line so you don’t fall off. Let it take you over the water and you will notice that another helicopter will come towards you.



What you want to do is web the next helicopter as it passes but if you miss and fall into the water it’s ok since you will come out on Ellis Island. Make your way around to the far side of the island to get as close to the statue as you can. Make a sprinting charged jump towards the statue and web at the peak of your jump to snag onto a pod there which will take you to the statue. Now that you are on Liberty Island, web a pod over head and it will lift you up to the top where you will see a structure circling the statue with orbs on the end of spires. What you need to do is swing your way past each orb and press X when you are close to it. You don’t have to be right on it, since when you press X you will kind of float over to it.



When you eventually break all 8 orbs, you will need to swing up and land in the center of the top of the statue. It’s not the easiest maneuver to get up there but swinging up and pressing the left trigger to get some extra juice to get higher. When you land in the center which you really need to do quickly because if you take too long the orbs will return, then you will see a slowly spinning blade and a brain in the center. Walk up to the brain and use your spider reflexes to pound on it. You should be able to kill the brain in no time flat as long as you have the spider reflexes on. When the brain is down, then the statue returns to normal and Mysterio takes off again. Make your way off the island and a scene will play to show you going back to the city.



Now guess what? That’s right, off to fight Mysterio again. Make your way to the blue destination marker and climb up the wall to enter the window to Mysterio’s apartment. Move the bookcase aside and enter the elevator. After the scene plays, take out the wobbley axe wielding doll by using your spider sense to counter his attacks. When he goes down, you’ll be able to enter the funhouse and be face to face with three more wobbley axe wielding dolls. When they attack, use your spider sense to dodge and then quickly attack them.



When all three are down, you will go through an opening and drop into a round room full of mirrors. When you walk up to a mirror, the crazy reflection will come out and attack you. There will be three Spiderman’s that come out at one time and never anymore, but if you kill one, then another will take its place. Leave the three Spiderman’s to chase you while you go around the room and smash the mirrors in the room. Smash one and then charge jump across the room and smash another. Keep bouncing back and forth and smash all the mirrors in the room. There will be one mirror that you won’t be able to smash since that will be the exit when the rest are demolished. When it appears after the rest are totaled, head through and you will be back outside and the chapter will end.

Chapter Ten: When Good Men Go Bad

After that long chapter with Mysterio you’re back on the street and swinging around. Your next objectives are to buy swing speed 5 and earn 3000 hero points. Easy enough no? Swing around town and start on those objectives and eventually you will remind yourself that you need to be at doctor Octavious’ place for a showing. Head there via the blue destination marker and watch the scene that follows. When you are back in control, you need to make your way around the room and destroy the 4 panels on each side. There is a large bubble that contracts and expands as well that will knock you flying backwards and a plasma bolt that will lash out when your spider sense tingles. Take out the first panel directly in front of you and step back as the bubble expands.



Head to the right and there will be a cabinet there. Stand in front of it and run around the corner with sprint on as the bubble contracts. When you get around the corner, jump towards the panel so the bubble doesn’t get you. Destroy the panel there and then go beside the desk and you are going to go right again. This bubble pattern is easier to learn, so after it contracts, expands and contracts again, run for the panel on the right. Destroy it and you will have one more to take out. This bubble pattern is the trickiest one. Let the bubble expand all the way to you, then contract, then expand, then contract again and expand to you one more time. After it does that first part of the pattern then you can run around the corner to the next panel on the right. Destroy it and the mission is over with a scene.



When you are back outside, work on your hero points some more and when you have enough to well remember you have a meeting with Doc. Connors. Make your way there and you will be ambushed by 4 of Mysterio’s robots when you get close. Take them out easily enough with jumps and punches and make your way to Doc’s lab. After the next scene you will be on your way to go all way back to the Daily Bugle for a word with Jonah. After his tirade, head outside and the chapter will end.
