Mission One: New York
After the interesting cut scene to begin the level, move your only controlled character, Wolverine. Walk to the first question mark game hint and learn about fighting. When you do three thugs will come out to tangle. Take them down and move forward and down the stairs. When you come up the other side take out a few more anti-mutant troops and then head right, up the ramp there. Make your way across and then jump down to the concrete walkway. Head left and make your way to the street. Take out a few more troops there and then start following the footprints up the street to West Manhattan.
After the next area loads, move forward and Avalanche will block the path. Go down the stairs on the left and take out the troops there and you should level up. Continue up the other side and continue down the street until you come across the Blob’s footprints again. Follow them to the right and head down the stairs to enter central Park. Walk forward and you will run into your team mate Cyclops. After he gives you a slap, you’ll see it is Mystique and her guards attack. Take down the thugs and continue to follow the foot prints to the left. Continue through the fountain area and across the bridge.
When you get to the other side Pyro will block the path and force you to take the stairs on the left and take out the thugs there. As soon as you pass under the bridge, head up the stairs on the right and go through the tunnel there after smashing the bars. Smash the other side and make a left to reach the fire. Take out the thug there and then swipe the fire hydrant to put out the flames. Hit the extraction point to save and continue following the footprints. As you reach the overpass, Mystique will hop down for a battle. Use combos on her and keep swiping to knock her health down. When she calls in her thugs, take them down and avoid the grenades she tosses. After they go down, she will attack again. Keep swiping and kicking until she drops for good. When she does, have a chat and then head forward to enter East Manhattan.
Move forward and have a chat with your buddy Cyclops and he will join your ranks. Now you can team up and switch back and forth between characters. Move forward and save and then continue to follow the foot prints. Follow the stairs up to the street and head right. Continue along taking out the thugs you come across and make your way around the corner. Keep going and eventually you will run into Alison and the Blob. To defeat Blob, use Cyclops and stay back while you blast him with your eye beam. When you run out of power, there are countless crates and barrels around the area to smash to get more. Once he is popped, continue through the parking lot to reach the East Rooftops.
Save at the extraction point there and head up the ramp ahead to meet a new enemy called and Insurgent. Kill him and continue up the stairs to enter the building there. Grab the comic book off the ground and head to the left. Go up the stairs and across the roof and up the next set. Kill a few more thugs and you head across the roofs and make your way up the next set of stairs and up the ramp to the North Rooftops. Head through the rooftop patio and up the ramp on the other side. Jump down and taker out the thugs there and continue going to the right and down the stairs. Go forward and across the boards to the next roof and then up the stairs there to find a danger room disc with TeamWork 101 on it. Continue up the stairs until you finally reach the top roof and the helipad. Step on it to enter the X-Jet and end the mission.
X-Mansion
Now that you are back in the home base, take the time to look around and get acquainted with the surroundings. Go on a tour with the professor around the sublevels. Check out the danger room to grab a disc and continue around the hanger and the rest of the rooms. Contact Forge from the war room and then head back up to the main floor. Go on a tour around the main floor and the top dormitories and check out all the objects you can interact with. When you have talked to everyone on both floors and interacted with everything, head back down to the war room and proceed to the next mission.
Mission Two: Alaska
Grab your 4 x-men for the mission and your first objective will be will shut down the 5 transformers around the area. Make sure you have the map up so you can see the location of each one. Head for the yellow x’s on the maps and destroy them as you come across each. Head to the left and follow the path into the first area with a lot of barrels and HAARP security. Take them down and follow the water to the left. When you reach the game tip mark, you can go left or right. Left will lead to some guards blocking the path with a fire and right will lead to a gorge that you can’t get across. Head to the left and have iceman put out the fire. Take down the guards and work your way around the corner.
There will be transformers to take out before you come to the large set of doors. Go through them and cross the bridge to the next area. Make your way forward and left and you will come to a small camp with a transformer and a group of guards. When they are toast continue left and circle back, up the slope to the next transformer. When it is destroyed, hope down the cliff so you are back where you started and then follow the water left and under the bridge. Destroy the last transformer there and then head to the end where the fence is. Go up the hill on the left and there will be an extraction point to save at. Do so and follow the road.
When you cross the bridge, you will get a cut scene of a tank exiting the building and a few guards accompanying it. Use Wolverine and simply walk up to the side of the tank and slash it 3 or 4 times with your slash attack and the tank will crumble. Take care of the rest of the guards and head for the large set of doors to enter the outer grounds. Continue forward and when you reach the train cars blocking the road, head left, up the slope and start to follow the tracks to the right. Use iceman to blow out the fire and then hop up on the flatbed train car. Hop to the next car and grab the skill point there. Drop off the other side and follow the ramp on the right down to the guard camp.
Take them all out and then smash the transformer there. Make your way towards the road and a short scene will play where the guards blow up the bridge. Make your way back up the ramp to the train tracks and follow them across and back down on the other side. Take out the two transformers there and then head for the large door directly across from the destroyed bridge to enter the inner grounds. Make your way forward following the road and you’ll come to some more enemies waiting for you. Take them down and then head up the slope on the left side. Jump up and through the trees and you will come to the fourth generator.
Destroy it and have iceman remove the wall of fire to get through to the next area on the right and to the fifth power transformer. Destroy it and hop through the open on the right to get back down to the road. Follow the road around to the left and jump past the vehicle there. Jump on top of the barrels to the right and then up to the next ledge where the enemies and the last transformer are. Take all the enemies out here as well as the flamethrower soldier. Use Iceman to put out the fire wall and go through until a scene plays to show another tank enter the area. Have iceman take out the two fires in front of the tank and then run Wolverine to the rear of the tank. Stand as close to the tank as possible and just start hacking at it. The tank won’t be able to hit you and will explode in no time. Take out the rest of the enemies in the area and then enter the HAARP Facility when everyone has been taken care of.
Use the extraction point to save your game and then continue forward into the facility. Head up the stairs on the left and go down the hall. Enter the room on the right and smash through the wall on the left to enter the next room. Take out the guards in here and go back out into the hall now that you are on the other side of the green barrier. Take out the enemies here and the HAARP Officer at the end of the hall that is resistant to physical attacks. When he goes down, enter the door at the end of the hall on the left and go down the stairs there to find a few more enemies and another Officer. Take everyone out and grab the keycard from the officer. Head back up the stairs and out the hall and make a right to the door at the end. Use the card to go through and enter the Mess Hall.
Take out the harp guards and exit into the hallway. There will be a green barrier to the right, so cross the hall into the next room and break through the wall on the right. Enter the barracks there and use the control panel to remove the green barrier. Head out into the hallway and make a left. As you get to the end of the hall, a room on the right will break open and a rush of enemies will attack. Take them all out and head through the door on the left around the corner to enter Systems Operations.
Head across the bridge in the next room and up the stairs. Take out the guards there and enter the large computer room. Go through the door on the left and follow the hallway around to the next computer room. Go through there and take out the enemies inside and go through the door on the right. Head down the stairs and up the other side. Head though the door there and enter the hallway. When you get to the 4 way junction, you will be ambushed so take them out and continue forward to the satellite control center. Take a few steps forward and destroy the enemies there. Head around the corner and use the extraction point to save before going through the next door behind you.
Head down the stairs to take out the enemies and back up the other side and through the door. Talk to the Lab Tech guy there. After the speech you’ll be in a battle with Pyro. He is easy enough to beat and if you focus the entire team on him and attack, he’ll drop in seconds. When he does drop, take out the fire demons he spawned. When they are all gone, head through the door on the right and you’ll run into some brotherhood marauders. Kill them and go through the next door on the right. Follow that hallway around and take out a few more enemies and go through the next door and head down the stairs. Follow the floor around the lift there and ride it down to the Main Tunnels.
When you get off the lift, turn around and save at the extraction point. Head forward and left and fight the green Revolutionary’s to pass them. Continue past two more groups and then hang a right to come to a broken bridge. Have iceman create one and run across. Kill the brotherhood soldiers and head to the right. Slowly creep to the next area and try to lure the enemies over a bit at a time. There are a lot over here and if you try to take on to many at once, it can get over whelming. Continue to hack and slash through the crowd of enemies and then hop down the ledge when you come to it to take out a few more revolutionaries and a Usurper. Grab the danger room disc from the other side of the lift and then ride it down to the exterior tunnels.
Head forward when you reach the bottom and go down the stairs. Take out the guards there and continue to the right. Have Iceman make a bridge across the gap and continue to follow the path across and through the frozen tunnels and you will come to another Extraction Point. Save there and enter the lift to the right and go for a ride. When it stops you will be outside on a launch pad with the greasy Toad. When the battle starts, you will need to slap Toad around until he heads for one of the jets in the four corners. When he does, smash the hell out of the jet so that it falls backwards and off the edge.
When it does, Toad will head to the center of the area and be free for attacks. He will also call up some reinforcements in the form of guards that will enter the area as well. You will want to focus on getting rid of those instead of Toad for the time being. When he heads for the next jet, take it out and then start to work on him. When the next wave of guards come up, work on them and so on. Eventually when all four jets are gone, you can work on Toad exclusively until he goes down once and for all.
X-Mansion:
Head through the outside estate and make your way inside. Head for the library and have a chat with NightCrawler in there. After his talk about the Sentinels, you unlock the danger room program as well as have a choice to play a Flashback mission where you will return to the past and play as Wolverine, Cyclops, Jean and Night crawler. You will fight more than a few Sentinels and it can get a little tough near the end when you have 8 or so Sentinels to square off against. After you finish the flashback head to the subbasement and make your way to the danger room. Talk to the professor and then you’ll be in the danger room.
Make your way through and you’ll need to defeat 22 robots in the hallways. After it is over you’ll be back in the danger room again to fight a few more robots one after another until a cut scene plays. After wards, you’ll be back in control of Alison. You can now either make your way to the lab to talk to Beast to get another flashback mission like the Sentinel one, except this time it will be with Juggernaut. If you do decide to fight him, you need to follow him through the house and try to defeat him before he reaches the professors office. There is a meter on the left side that will slowly fill red the closer he gets. When it gets full and the Juggernaut is still standing, you’ll fail. After the flashback, head to the war room to start the next mission.
Mission Three: Old Sewers
As the mission begins you are introduced to the underground mutants known as Morlocks. Pick your team and head into the sewers to find your buddy Gambit. As soon as the mission starts, head forward and to the left to save at the extraction point. From here make your way to the right and go through the door. Smash through the wall on the left and take out the Morlocks there. Head through the next door and through the corridor to run into a few more enemies. Head right over the bridge and then around to the left until you come to another door. Go through fighting the Morlocks along the way. As you go through the door there, there will be a pipe opening to the left that will have Morlocks jumping out of it.
Have Cyclops blast the lid to shut it and to cut off the rest of the enemies coming through. Head up the stairs and go to the right and through the door. Follow the path around and take out the claw and bruisers until you come to a door that leads down to the Mainline Reservoir. Go through to the next area and take out the enemies who rush up to you. From there go to the left and continue through the door and into the room with the couches and tables. Go through the next door and eventually you will come into a room with a round reservoir in the center of the room. Your objectives will be updated and you’ll need to shut it down.
Go to the corner of the room and use the extraction point there to save the game. Go to the closed door and it will take you to the East Trunk Line. Enter the next area and kill the Morlocks that run to greet you. Use iceman to create a bridge to cross the right and grab the comic book there. Head back over the bridge and go to the right and through the door. Follow the corridor around past the mattresses and through the next door. Head across the bridge and through the door directly across from it and then through the sludge down and up the stairs. Head left and follow the walkway around to another door. Go through there and then across the bridge and hook a left to the end of the hall there to grab a sketch book.
Return to the door and go through to enter the dead end room. Walk to the right wall and start bashing it until it breaks. When it does, enter the room with the water pump and start bashing it as well. When it breaks, you will still have to find one more to destroy. Now you need to make your way all the way back to the entrance and head back up to the main line reservoir. Save at the extraction point and then head to the opposite side of the room and enter the West Trunk Line. Head to the right of where you enter from and go through the door there. As you walk forward, watch for the spikes that pop out of the floor and kill the Morlocks that appear. Make your way over the bridge and into the door on the left. Continue through the room and smash through the wall on the right.
Kill the wave of enemies in here and then go through the door on the far wall to the left. When you enter, follow the corridor for a few steps and then destroy the second water pump there. When it blows, head back to the entrance and up to the main reservoir. Save at the extraction point and then head down the stairs in the center of the room. Go through the door there and enter the Morlock Haven. When you do, you will receive two new objectives. One being to find Healer and one being to find Marrow. Head to the left of the entrance and go up the large stone bridge on the right to a courtyard. Talk to the healer on the left side and buy any potions you need.
When you are done talking and buying, go to Marrow who is in the center of the area. After you are done talk to her, head back down the ramp and head to the left until you come to a door that opens to the Mainline North. Go through there and make your way right. Kill the Morlocks that rush at you and then head across the bridge to the left. Save at the extraction and then head back across the bridge. Go to the next door and go through. Now you can follow the rooms all the way through until you come to a hallway on the left with spikes in the floor. Go through there and make a left all the way to the end and around the corner. Go to the far side of the walkway and continue to the end where there will be a door to take you to the filtration reservoir.
Go straight around the corner and across the bridge. There are a lot of enemies around this area so you will want to only take on a few at a time. Head across the long bridge and at the end make a left and then follow the room around. Continue to follow the rooms around to the right to an extraction point in the far corner. Save after you reach it and then go through the door there after you save and you will enter 22nd street. Walk to the left or right and cross the bridge to reach the center area when you do, a scene will play with Marrow and the battle will start. To fight Marrow, you will want to have Iceman freezing her to slow her down and then have Wolverine attack her with his claw attacks. Those will do heavy damage to her and her bone throw attacks won’t hit.
After you have nailed her enough times, she will give up and Gambit will be free of his cell. After the mission ends, you won’t go back to the mansion, but you’ll go directly into the next mission.
Mission Four: USS Arbiter
For this mission, you need to start off by destroying the 4 Sentinel hangers around the deck of the ship. There is one in each corner that will shoot out a Sentinel as you get close. After all four are destroyed, head to the front of the ship, the opposite and of where the X-jet is, and you will be able to drop down to the aft flight deck. When you reach it, you will be face to face with Blob and he will jump over board. Continue forward and up the stairs and you will get a cut scene of the Sentinel Controller landing. You can stay and fight him or bolt up the stairs to the left of where he landed and go to the control panel there to move the submersible over on top of the area.
When it moves over, toss the explosive barrels at it and it will fall through the deck to open the lower levels for you as well as take out the Sentinel for you. Save at the extraction Point there and make your way to the right. Now that you are in the Hanger Lift, head down the stairs to find more troops. Take everyone out and continue up the stairs on the left. Go through the door there and hang a left to come to another door leading to the Aft Hatchways. As you enter, you’ll see the crew dead on the ground. Make your way forward and you will come to a Sentinel hatch. Destroy the panel there at the red arrow and then the Sentinel.
Head up the stairs on the right and you will come through a door and a few more soldiers. After you take them down, you’ll come across another energy drainer with blue barriers to the left and right. Destroy it and the enemies and go through the door. Kill the machine gun there and continue around the corner to come to a control panel. Use it to go through the barrier and then go straight to the next door which will lead to the Starboard Launch Bays. Save at the extraction point and head through the door. There will be another Sentinel hatch on the right to destroy as well as the Sentinel himself. Head up the stairs on the right when he’s down and follow the hallway around to the next door.
Go down the stairs there and take out the next Sentinel and up the next set of stairs on the right. Follow the catwalk around to the left and enter the door at the end to enter the Fore Launch Bays. Head around the corner and through the door and down the stairs to another Sentinel. Destroy it and head up the stairs and across the catwalk. To the right a barrier will go up so go straight and then through the room to the right. Follow the hallway to the end, past the barrier on the right and past the room on the left. Go around the corner and through the door to fight a Sentinel. Head up the stairs and across the catwalk to enter the room that has a lift in the center. Kill everyone and then ride it down to the lift.
After Jean tells you that Blob is destroying the ship, head forward to the extraction point and save. Now you will have a few objectives to complete and have a limited time of 15:30 to do it. Look to the left of the lift and there will be a purple haze there. That’s a crack in the ships hull that you need to weld up. Use Cyclops or Storm to weld it and continue forward and through the door on the left. Now you’ll be shown a crew man in his quarters and be told you need to save them. Enter his room and talk to him and have iceman put out the flames. The crewman will then follow you out and to the right to the exit for him. Take out the guards and continue through to the next room where two water leaks will spring.
Have Cyclops weld them shut and then head through the door behind you. Kill the soldiers here and have iceman put out the flames to enter the next door to rescue the crewman. Take him back to the life boat and then return to where you found him. Use the control panel there. Head back to the barrier it lowers and go through the door there to enter the infirmary. Head forward and into the next room and up the right side. Have Iceman create a bridge to reach the crewman. Seal the holes and take the crewman to the lift boat down the hall and to the right. Head back down the hall to the flame that is shooting out and enter the room on the right. Smash through the wall and enter the next room and hallway to come to a panel to turn off the flames.
Continue down the hall to the right of the panel and follow it to the left and around the rooms until you come to the next crewman. Use the panel in his room and it will lower another barrier. Go through the doors and follow the hallway back to the lifeboat hatch. Turn around and head back down the hall and make a right to the door around the corner and enter the Galley. Save at the extraction point and make your way left through the door. Go to the barrier at the end of the hall and enter the room on the right to find a control panel. Use it to lower the barrier and then head through. Have iceman make a bridge and run across making sure you don’t fall in the electrified water below. Enter the next room and kill the soldiers there.
Make a left when you enter the next hallway and smash the wall at the end. Get the crewman following you and head back out and to the left. Let the crewman run into the life boat there and then head right and follow the hallway around to a fire blocking the path of the next one. Put out the fire and have him follow you back to the life boat. Head back to the left of where you found him and follow the hall way there to the next door that leads to the maintenance division. Head straight and through the door on the left. Follow the hallway around. There will be two more crew man to save. The life boat will be in between the two. Make your way to both and bring them back to the life boat to finally end this mission once and for all.
