Head across the walkway and you will come outside under the bridge. Hop down on to the broken catwalk there and continue up along the diagonal girders to the office at the top. Kill the crab there and the bridge will start to shake as a train goes across it. Make your way across the next set of girders and climb the ladder there to the office. Grab the crossbow weapon there and head out and then pop the two combine soldiers on the top right. Head up the next ladder and walk across the catwalk and across the girders some more to reach the other side of the bridge. Enter the room there and follow the stairs down and out. Kill the combines there and enter the structure and go out the door on the right. Follow the ladder up to the catwalk and enter the doorway to come to some stairs. Head up and enter the room with two combines behind a field.



Use the manipulator to press the button on the left side and then when the shield is down, press the button on the right. Now a gunship will show up and some more combines. Make your way back out of the building and back to the girders. You’re going to take some fire from the ship, but you need to get back to where there were rockets to take it down. When you do, continue along the girders and all the way back to your buggy. Hop in it and drive up the hill to get on the train tracks and turbo boost it to the right. Hurry up and pull over to the left as soon as you can since a train will be barreling towards you at a break neck speed. When you go left, continue going left and use the ramp there to enter the tunnel.



Sand Traps

As you enter the tunnel, you’ll come to a car pile up and a load of zombies. Hop off the buggy and take them all down. When they are toast, clear the way with the manipulator and drive on through. Continue down the road and you will come to a house on the right. Clear it out and continue to the next roadblock. Clear it out of combines and keep bootin down the road using the left side grass area to get over the first break in the road and then the right side to get past the overturned tanker. Just past there will be a set off houses and a gate blocking the road. In the house will be a little contraption that takes three car batteries and it will then open the gate. There will also be a gunship that flies in and drops off some soldiers.



Take them down and then grab the two batteries from the grey car to the left of the house and another under the bathtub to the right of the house. There is also a third battery inside the house on a mattress. Place the batteries in their spots so the lights turn green and the gate will open for you. Drive through and enter the next tunnel. When you exit, you’ll come to a few more houses but these are where the resistance is holed up. Park your car in the garage and you’ll have a few fighters along side you as drop ships fly in to drop combines. Take everyone out as they come and eventually you’ll be told that there are rockets in the light house. Head for it and climb up to the top and grab them. Take down the gunship and a fighter will come up to meet you. He’ll lead you down to the lower level and open a door for you to follow a path.

Exit out through there and make your way left across the rocks and into a cave as a drop ship flies away with your buggy. As you reach the other side, you’ll meet a guy who will tell you about the sand and the antlions. Make your way across the rocks and eventually you’ll be able to go left. Go left until you reach the wide open area and then start going left again. You supposed to be jumping from anything to anything just not touching the sand, but I basically just ran my butt off through the entire area and then stopped when I came to the explosive barrels and let them have it. When you climb up the rock there to look over the next area of beach, there will be bodies and debris all over.



Drop down and when you hit the ground, the big momma antlion will appear with some smaller ones. Take her out using rockets if you have them and explosive barrels. Other than that, just fill her will anything else you have until she drops. When she does, a Vortigaunts will appear and tell you about the Pheropods. Pick it up from her corpse and you will now be able to control the ant lions. Continue to follow the Vortigaunts along into the resistance base and he will show you how to use the bug bait. After you are shown, head through the gate. Now call up a squad of bugs and head along the beach and take out the enemies at each of the bunkers. Also sure to climb up the ground stompers and shut them off.



When you reach the third or so bunker that the combine are holed up in, there will be a doorway into the hill there. Enter it and make your way to the left and clear out the halls. Continue through the hallway and you will come outside behind more bunkers. Clear them all out and keep going along until you come to a dead end with a log sticking out of the cliff. Run across and jump to the other side and go through to the two zombies at the fire. Kill them and run up the ramp that falls and continue up the ladder to the catwalks. Hop across to the grass ledge and continue up the grass ledge to a pipe. Kill the zombie there and follow it along till you reach the ladder.



Make your way around the corner and there will be three watch towers to take out the guys on it. When you take them out, head to the left and around the corner there to fight more combines on the ground and on rooftops. Continue around the next two left corners and go up the stairs to find a rocket box to take down the gunship with. When it’s down another will show up. Show it the same love and then go around the corner from the ammo box and there will be a ledge with flames. Move a box there and jump up. Turn off the valve to the left to quench the flames and continue along the hallway to the next valve. Repeat it and head for the door at the end to enter Nova Prospekt.

Nova Prospekt

Enter the door and head down the stairs. On the right side in a room will be a hole in the wall. Hop through and crawl into the office there. Head out of it and use the manipulator on the sentry there to knock it over and to stop it from killing the antlions. Head up the next set of stairs and climb over the bent fence to come to two more sentries. Knock them over as well. Head the stairs at the end of the hall after you heal and knock over the two sentries there in front of the door. Go through and head down the stairs and down the ladder into the water. Head up the stairs and hop up the hole and go through the doors.



Follow the hallway and drop down to the lower level. Continue around the hall and up the stairs and you will come to two sentries on the upper level. Toss a barrel at them to knock them over and go up to where they were. Head right and go through the box blocked hallway and you will come to a shower area. Hop over the edge and another big momma antlion will attack. Use the barrels and rockets to down her and then head for the double doors blocked by loads of crap. Move the junk out of the way and a few antlions will pop up to say hi as you move to the end of the hall. Make a left and the combine will be there. Take them out as well as knocking over the sentries there and hang a left to a barrier covered cell. Use the gravity gun to pull the plug on the left side and go through the door on the left.



Pull the lever there and go through the door and up the stairs on the left. Blow the trip wire on the wall and enter the room. Hit the switch to open the door below and head back down there to go through it. Quickly crawl through the air duct on the far wall and crawl through. Kill the combine there and unplug the plug on the wall to let your antlions through the barrier. Make a right around the corner and head up the stairs. Continue forward and take out the trip mines and head right. Take out the sentries and head up the stairs to deal with some manhacks. Continue down the hall and make a left and go around the corner to find more combines. Take them down and head around the right corner to see a control booth. Send the antlions in and clear it out.



Use the health there and pull the lever on the wall to open the barred doors. Go through them and make a left to find more combines. Deal with them and make a right at the end of the hall to come to two sentries. Knock them over and continue to the end of the room as you clear it out. Head up the stairs there and go down the hall way and you will come to a kitchen with some sentries. Knock them down and continue through the next door way. Make your way left up the stairs and a quick right to come to more combines. Take them down and head up the stairs going straight to enter a control room. Hop through the open window to land in the room below. When you do, a momma antlion and some combines will enter. Let them fight and then take down the loser yourself.



Clear the doorway marked C3 and then follow it through where there will be large grey walls on the left side. As you move, those walls will move outward and crush you like a bug. Move to about halfway down and there will be an opening on the left side up top. Pile a barrel or crate under it and jump up through. Follow the passage around and drop off the edge at the fire.

Entanglement

Walk forward and around through the hallway. When you see Alyx, head to the right and she’ll drop down to meet you. Follow her as she talks and she’ll set her father free. Follow her through the hallways and take out the combines as they appear. When you reach the room where her father is, watch the scene and then continue to follow Alyx. When she opens the door for you continue through and up the stairs. Let Alyx open the gate for you and then continue to do what she says. Crawl through the grate behind the shelves. Crawl through and take out the mandatory crabs in there. When you come to the end, drop a grenade to blow the trip wire and kill the crabs below. Drop down and go through the gate on the left. When you enter the office there, some combine will enter through a gate to the right.



Pop them and take out the sentries there as well. Go through the doorway and into the small hall and you will come out to a blue barrier. Toss a grenade into the adjoining room to blow the plug and to lower it. Go through and take out the sentry around the corner and make an immediate left. Enter the control room and Alyx will tell you to set up the sentry guns in the room to fend off the coming combines. Set them up in the center of the room facing diagonally left and right and help the turrets take down the combines when they enter. Watch behind you so that you don’t stand in front of an open window and watch for manhacks as well. When a combine knocks over a sentry, quickly pick it up and set it back into place. Once the combines are all toast Alyx will drop in.



After your chat with her, head down the stairs and make a left down the hallway. Go through the door there and follow the stairs all the way down to the head crab room. Go through the next two doors and you will come to a water filled room with electricity running through it. Hop onto the large pipe to the left and from there on to the next one. Jump across to the platform and kill the crabs. Now you will see a ladder on the right and a small platform there. Pick the blue barrels, skids and boxes and create a bridge over to the higher ledge. Run up the stairs when you get up and follow the hallway to another set. Go on up and head through the door there. Clear the next doorway and enter the large hallway. Head up the stairs there and then hop over the railing as you take out the combines there.



Now Alyx will tell you that there is a gang of combines coming and you need to find some turrets to help you out. Look for the hallway with them and there will be a health and HEV refresher there. Go to the right, and there will be a small room there with a bench. Take two sentries and place them in the room facing the door. Place them at the rear of the room so that the combines need to get in far to knock them over. Hop up on the bench to the right and look out the left side for soldiers coming. Start taking down any soldier that get near the entrance of the room and left the sentries worry about the ones you can’t see. The only time that you may need to do something other than shooting is if a combine tosses a grenade in the room. Use the gravity gun and quickly shoot it out of the room.

There will be three waves of enemies that come but with all the bodies, there will be no lack of ammo around. Once the onslaught is over, head out and find Alyx near the barrier. Follow her to the computers and then follow her as she runs through the door and down the stairs. Head through the flare lit hallway and toast the combine at the end. Enter the security room and continue to follow Alyx to Mossman’s lab. After the scene and she and Eli take off, you’ll need to set up some more turrets. Grab them from the corner and set them up in the corner facing out. You can watch the teleporter slowly lower and that will tell you how much time is left before the combine stop coming. When the teleporter reaches the bottom, hop in and you will be teleported back to the lab. After the scene, follow Dog out the hallway and drop through the hole on the left.



Anticitizen One

Follow the street along and a rocket truck will appear. Let dog handle it and continue along to where dog opens the gate for you. After the drop ship appears and dog goes for a ride, go down the alley on the left and enter the building. Look in the room on the right for a TV screen of your buddy and then continue down the hallway on the right, over the rubble. Go around the corner and you will come outside. A resistance fighter there will join your squad. Continue down the street and you’ll run into a few more that will join up. Once you have them, some combine’s will come out of the large metal door. Take them down and enter it. Follow it around the fence and up the stairs. Now you’ll come to a hole covered by a board. Move the board and you will see some “hoppers” on the ground. These are proximity mines that blow if you get close to them. Pick them up and toss them away and then drop down. Head through the yard and up the stairs.



Continue through the room and then make a right through the corridor to the street. On the right you’ll see a strider attacking a building. Head left up the street and down the alley on the right. Pop the combines there and go to the left down the stairs. Make a right and continue along to the end of the area. Enter the building on the left and follow the hallway around to the street. Make a right and head over to the fire to grab another squad member. Make a left and enter the small doorway there and enter the building. Head up the stairs and again and through the doors and go right to come to a hole in the floor. Knock over the sentry there and drop down. To the right at the end of the street will be guard wall.



Head towards it and then go to the building on the left and enter the doorway there. Go through the building, up the stairs and drop down the holes in the floor to come to another door that exits to the street. Make a right when you exit and head along the guard wall and up the stairs to enter the building. Follow the stairs down to a hallway and make your way through it. Continue to another stairs way and go down. Continue along down another set and you will come to a hole with some sentries and dead resistance fighters. Enter it and follow the hallway to the left. Go through the door and you will enter a parking garage. Continue left and a swarm of manhacks will appear. Continue down the road and to the right of the over turned tanker truck. From there go to the far left corner and climb the rubble to get on top of the fence.

Drop down and blow the padlock off the fence door. Let the squad through and continue along to the next area. Fight more manhacks and the combine at the end of it. When they are dead talk to the fighter on the other side and he will tell you to stand back as he blows the opening. Fight off more combine and manhacks until it blows then go through. Crawl through the next opening as well and you will enter a room full of radioactive goo and boxes to hop across. Use the two wooden cylinders to move across. Drop one and stand on it, and then pick up the one behind you and drop it in front of you and so on until you reach the middle with the pillars. When you do about 6 zombies will approach you.



Take them down and hop over to the brown car and up onto the over turned truck. Walk over to the ramp pipes and walk up to a grate. Crawl through and drop down into the hallway. Open the door at the end to let a squad member through and then head up the stairs and go out to the streets. Make a right and a capsule will crash will some crabs in it. Take them out and continue through the corridor and into the next door way. Go through the building and when you come to the broken ceiling and floor, drop down and go through the door there. Go out side and wait around and a fighter will come through the door on the right. Go through when he does and head up the stairs.



Make your way to the room with the hole in the floor and drop down. Head down the hallway and to the room looking over the street. The fighters on the other side will drop a bridge across for you to cross. Let all your squad come across and then raise it up again. Continue down the hallway and up the stairs to come to more headcrabs. Kill them and drop off into the hole there. Drop down a few more and kill the zombies and headcrabs on the way down. Make your way down the hall when you reach the bottom and out the door to get outside. Follow the stairs around to the far side and enter the door there where the combine are.



Enter the fire filled debris room and kill the crabs as you make your way up to the top. Kill the few combine out here and then pull the lever to drop the bridge. Go across and enter the next building. Kill the few here and drop down the hole. Make your way forward and a few more will pop out on you. Make your way to the right of where the two combine fire at you through the hole in the wall and head up the stairs there. Drop down the hole to get to where they were and follow the hallway there. Kill the few jumpy zombies that appear down below and then drop down. Head down the stairs and through the hallway and then up a flight. Continue to follow the hallway on the right and you will come to a hole. Let the sentries kill the zombies and then knock over the sentries and jump down.

Alyx will bust down the door and you’ll need to lead her down to the control room. Make a left down the hallway towards the health kit on the wall and take out the combine along the way. Head down the stairs there and Alyx will tell you where the room is. Open the door she tells you to and kill everyone inside. After she’ll tell you that she needs you to help destroy a generator. Take the squad out and down to the street and you will come out to the center area where the generator is behind the control booth. On each side of the street there will be a blue barrier that combine will come through. Let Alyx work her magic and take out the combines as they come.



After the shield on the generator has dropped twice, nail it with the manipulator and she will open the gate. Run through and watch the scene. After it is over, drop down into the gap and enter the door way on the other side. Follow the corridor to a gate and it will open as you go through. Drop down to the ground below and follow to another gate. Lift the bar off the door and go through to more beams. Smash them and continue through to the right. Take the barrel out from under the ramp and the boxes off of it and hop on it. Jump over to the pipes and walk to the far end. Go through the grate there and out the other side. Walk through the passage on the right and take out the combines there.



Drop down off the stairs to the stairs below and follow the walkway around to the door. Go through and use the manipulator through the window to lift the bar off the double doors. Go back out and through the doors and kill the zombies and combine there. Head through and there will be some zombies below and to the left. Kill them and then drop down. Go through the alley there and climb the ladder on the left. Walk along the walk way there to the set of stairs. Head up the rubble alley and hop over. Go to the right and walk up the boards there to the ledge on the left. Walk around to the booth at the far side and pull the lever inside. When the platform moves, head out and kill the combines.



Wait for the platform to stop and then pull the lever again and hop on it. Ride it up and hop off. Climb the ladder on the right side and walk to the top of the platform. Walk along the rail until you see a combine pull the lever. When the platform moves again, hop on and ride it till you are next to the large brown tank. Jump on top of it and then over onto the walkway. Clear it off of enemies and then walk across the walkway spanning the room and Drop down to the ledge below after you clear the hoppers. Walk through the corridor, down the stairs and through the hall.

Follow Freeman

Here you’ll run into more squad fighters to join you. Walk down the hall and out to the street and there will be some snipers taking aim at your head. Run forward using each corner as cover and make a right down the street there. Enter the open door on the right and the fighters there will tell you that a guy is pinned on the roof. Run back out and go right and enter the open door on the left. Kill the crabs and make your way down the ramp on the left and talk to the guy there. Kill the zombies that come and then head up the stairs. When you reach the top, let the sniper take out the zombies and then hook around to the right for another set of stairs.



Go up and when you reach the top there will be a sniper to the left and at the far end. Quickly toss a grenade in the window the sniper is in on the left and then take out the two crabs around the area. When they are dead, quickly rush forward to where Barney is and grenade the sniper there. When they are dead, follow Barney down to the street and to the control booth as he’ll open the gate. Follow the hallway and kill the headcrabs there. Continue up the stairs and hallways until you reach a room with a view of the citadel and a security console. After Barney is down yapping go through the now open doors and down the stairs to the street. Head to the far right and hop up on the debris to reach the door there. Go through and kill the combine inside.



Head through the next door and across the courtyard to the door at the far end. Enter there and kill the combine and pop the lock off the cage to let your squad out. Head through the next door and up across the front of the building. Clear out the enemies and go to the blue barrier. Pull the plug with the manipulation gun and go through and enter the building. Follow the hallway and enter the double doors to come to a set of blue lasers. Step in the m to lift the turret and toss a grenade down in to it. When you do, Barney will run over and open the door. Go through and you will enter large room where there will be blue barriers all over. Head to the right and trip the blue beams to lift the turret. Toss in a grenade to take out and again to the turret on the right. If you run out of grenades, run back down the hall to the supply room to get more.



After both are down continue through the hall and head up the stairs at the end. When you reach the top, run through the blue beams into the next room and use the gravity gun on the generator. After it goes down, enter the previous room on the left and grab more squad mates there. Head back to the generator room and head right and follow the hallway to the corridor on the right. Cross it and follow the hallway around and enter the room in the center. When you do, the doors will close and enemies will run past each hole in the wall firing. Eventually they will come through the large metal doors, one at a time. Take them out as they come through and exit through the door into the hall with the blue lasers at the end. Take out the turrets and continue to the room on the left.

Kill the generator and then head back out and down the hall and across the bridge walkway and around the hallway to the next bridge walkway on the other side. Make a right and you will come to a room with a bunch of red lasers. If you trip them, you’re toast so make sure you don’t. Jump on the machinery ahead of you and go left. Jump across and then jump forward. From there go right to the round machinery and drop off the edge. Go right a step after you drop off and duck under the red beam and go right. Go to the rear of the machinery there where there is a red bead running along the top. Jump on there but stay very close to the edge and make sure you don’t hit it. Walk over to the pipe and jump on it and walk across to the other side and drop down where the red button is.



Press it and you squad will come to meet you. Head through the door and walk around the hallway to enter the office with the third generator. Take it out with the gravity gun and make your way back out and down the stairs to the main lobby of the building. Head for the opening under the green exit sign. Enter the room at the end and Barney will open a door to let you gain access to the roof. Follow the stairs up and take out the few combines up here and a drop ship. After it goes down, another will appear and the metal gate around the corner will open. Head through and take out a few more combines there and press the red button that was behind them. As the bridge comes across, take out as many as you can on the other side and then rush over when the gate opens.



Smoke the wave of combines the come at you and enter the hallway. Drop off the edge to the staircase below. As you make you r way outside, a fighter will tell you there is a rocket case on the other side of the yard to help take down the Striders. Head to the far side and through the tunnel and up to the left to enter the building there. There are rockets in there as well as in the center against the far wall across from the building behind all the rubble. Grab the rockets and head back for more when you need them. Fire rocket after rocket at the Striders until they fall. When no more appear, head to the far end where some combines will start to come out. Head down the stairs there to a hallway and follow it out to an underground tunnel.



Head down it and then a Strider will approach from the rear. Just rub from it and enter the area on the left side. Kill the combine inside there and continue through the doorway and up the stairs and you’ll see the Strider out side the area firing in at you. Climb the slanted beam up and follow the platforms to the right. Hop down the staircase there and you’ll see a case of rockets. Use them to take down the Strider and continue through the hallway there where the case was. Follow it around and you will run into more resistance fighters and they will lead you out to a destroyed building. Out here will be two more Striders to deal with but you’ll need to get to the rocket case on the top level.

Make your way around the roof counter clockwise, killing combines as you go and you will eventually come to a set of HEV and health rechargers. Next to them will be a set of stairs that will lead you to the roof where the rockets are. Grab them and start firing at the Striders while using the walls for cover. If the combines are giving you trouble from nearby buildings, fire a rocket at them. Take down both striders and make your way across the beam on the right to the far wall. Hop through the opening in to reach the street. Fight a few combines there and as the horse statue falls, an old friend shows up. Hop down the hole that is opened and you’ll be on the way to the citadel.

Head to the end of the hall and head left. Slowly drop down the rock ledge and jump to the far left when you reach the dead end. Continue down along the left and jump across to the next ledge. When you come to a pipe sticking out, run across to the ledge on the other side and immediately jump to the right. Head down the tunnel there and left up the ramp. Follow the corridor along to the drop off and head left. Follow the ledge in the center through the next room and continue around the left side. Drop down and run to the left where the capsules are stopping above a bridge. Run to the other side and then run back to the capsule closest to you when it opens, jump in it. Go for a loooooooooooooong ride and when you hop out, all you weapons will be toast but one.



Grab it and head through the hallway and take out the combine that appear. Continue along and take out the combines that appear. Simply just follow the walkway along the only way you can go and knock down the enemies with other enemies. Hop over the railing when you come to it and pass the center structure with the beam going up the center. Go along the next walkway to an elevator and ride it up. When you come to a barrier, use your gun to grab the balls on the left and pull them towards you. Toss them at the combines and continue through when the shield goes down. Make your way right through the corridor there and follow it along to a set of stairs.



Head up them and follow the corridor to another TV screen with Dr. Breen talking to you. After he’s done head to the large room and press the red button to call down the lift. As it slowly approaches, take out everyone around you and hop on when it finally arrives. Now that you are rising up, again take out everyone that comes near you until you reach the top. Hop off when you do and follow the corridors around to the next set of screens. Watch Breen and then continue down the hallway on the left out to another circular room. Follow the next walkway along to more screens. After he yammers a bit more, hop down to the walkway below and run across taking out the combine on it.



When you reach the far side, a Strider will pop out. Grab a ball from the energy beam on the left or right side and bonk him with it. When he goes down continue on to the barrier on the left and grab the balls out of the beam there to get through. Drop down and go right. Follow the corridor to another capsule on a track and hop in it. Go for another ride.
