Proceed into the next warehouse area and be on alert for the dreaded Crimson Dragoon ninja corps. When these guys first attack you, you won't be able to see them except for their shimmery outline. You can find them fairly easily by going into VATS mode though. You'll have a 0% hit of hitting every part of them, but at least you'll know where they are. Once you hit them they'll pop back into view and you can take them out like anyone else.
After killing the ninjas, go up the stair and out the door and you'll be outside by the sets of artillery guns. There are three guns to take out, and the strategy is the same for all of them: kill everyone around the guns, plant explosives on the gun by walking to the panel on them and interacting with the panel, and then run like hell to the next gun. The nearby bunkers offer no protection against your explosives, a lesson I learned quite painfully, so plant 'em and get the hell out of there. Once all of the guns have been destroyed you'll warp to the American HQ and the achievement will pop.
Paving the Way - 20 pts
You'll have two options as to the order in which you do the missions comprising this quest, but I took on the Chimera outpost first, so that's how you're going to do it, unless you think you can handle this stuff on your own, at which point I have to ask just why you're reading this? Anyway, General Chase will tell you that you have to take out the fuel tanks at the nearby Chimera tank depot, clear out a Chinese listening post and disable the pulse field defending the Chinese HQ. He'll also tell you that you can't disable the pulse field before doing the other two, so don't even try.
After talking to Grant, chat up Lt. Montgomery to learn more about your missions and about choosing your strike team and your available armament packages. You'll be given five recruitment markers that you can use to choose a team, with various team members having different recruitment costs. For example, a Sentrybot costs four markers where an Infantryman costs one marker. Once you have your team selected, go to the other terminal and select a weapons package for your team. You'll get a holotape that you can give to the Quartermaster for your weapons.
Head outside and go talk to the Quartermaster but save before talking to him as you'll be given the opportunity to pass a speech check and get a Gauss Rifle. You want the Gauss Rifle—you need the Gauss Rifle. Not only can it take out most enemies in one shot, but unlike other sniper rifles in the game, VATS actually knows that this is a sniper rifle and will give you a pretty good chance to hit from long distances, so make with the yapping and get yourself a proper weapon. Hopefully you've been picking up all of those Micro Fusion cells you've seen laying about. Once you're properly outfitted, talk to Sgt. Montgomery, tell him where you're going and then follow them there. The Chimera depot is on the left path, the listening post on the right.
When you're out in the field, Montgomery will talk to you at times to give you an update on the mission status. At these points, if you've lost any team members, you can tell Montgomery to radio for replacements and they'll magically warp in.
On your way to the depot, you'll come to an ice camp manned by Chinese soldiers. Kill anything that moves and check out all of the tents. Eventually you'll come to a tent that you'll see when you have your back to the guard towers and you're facing a water tower. Your next piece of intel is in this tent.
After fighting through the ice camp, you'll eventually enter the Chimera depot. There are soldiers here, as well as a roaming Chimera tank, so be on your toes. When you enter the depot, you're sixth piece of intel is in the first building to the left. Once you have it, take out everything in the depot, plant explosives on the two fuel tanks and you'll warp back to HQ.
Make any changes you need to in regards to your team or your armaments and when you're ready to go, talk to Montgomery and tell him about your desire to visit the listening post. This time you'll pass through a mining town that is absolutely infested with Crimson Dragoon soldiers, so be careful. When you cross the railroad tracks and enter the mining town, to your right is a Chinese rocket soldier up on a small hill. Head up there, kill everyone and check the various crate stacks for ammo and your seventh piece of intel.
Make your way through the town killing and maiming, maiming and killing and you'll eventually get to the listening post. Enter it and be wary for more Crimson Dragoon soldiers. When you get to the room with the metal staircase, take a look under the staircase and you'll find your eighth piece of intel, and the last piece of intel in this quest. After picking up the intel, make your way through the listening post and kill everyone until you get to the roof, at which point you should kill everyone on the roof. Oddly enough, the mission won't end until you go back inside the listening post after clearing out the roof, so do so and you'll be warped back to HQ and get an achievement for your troubles.
