Substation Strongpoint: "Sev and Garza catch up with Captain Narville's convoy only to find that it is stalled by anti-tank fire from the roof of a fortified substation."

[SYMBOL #17: Look behind you after climbing up the ladder into the substation. The symbol is at the top of the building near the red tapestry.] Move forward through the corridor, shooting out the explosives, to reach the substation which the convoy is battling. Two Helghast with shotguns will try taking you out, either slice them with the knife or melee them. Back up into the hallway, then zoom and inch forward to kill the couple of guys shooting down at you from the roof of the substation. Blow the door to the substation with a charge and eliminate the enemies on the first floor. Stick by the blown doorway as you fire upon Helghast on the first floor and even the occasional soldier on the second floor that pops into sight. [INTEL #10:] On the first floor of the substation is an intel briefcase near the stairs.] Climb the stairs to the second floor when the coast is clear. Garza instructs you to set charges on each of the four pillars. As you set each one, more Helghast come into the substation. Dispatch them before attempting to set the next charge. When all four are rigged, exit the substation to complete the level.

VI. Salamun Bridge

"Captain Narville's convoy has found its way to Salamun Bridge: the last remaining option to cross Corinth River and reach Visari's palace."

[INTEL: 2]; [SYMBOLS: 3]

Bridge East: "As expected, a large Helghast force is defending the bridge. They must be eliminated before the convoy can progress."

You're immediately thrust into combat the moment the mission begins, a squad of Helghast defending a line at the bridge. Amazingly, your allies will do an admirable job of clearing enemy forces from the start of the bridge. The real fighting begins as the second set of red flags. Moving up either side of the bridge, there are two cars left and right that you should use for cover; don't go forward past these cars. Fight the Helghast and after a few moments the bridge begins to raise. You're told to focus on eliminating the machine gunners, which you should have been aiming to do anyway. The Helghast number quickly fall off once the bridge is raised, so when you feel it's safe enough run up the the machine gun nest and take them out. It doesn't take long before the eastern end of the bridge is under ISA control, leaving you to take the trail underneath the bridge to deal with the anti-air emplacement. As you drop down the makeshift walkway, ignore the Helghast soldiers shooting at you from the bridge pillar.

Air Defense 22-12ILC: "Now that the Helghast have raised the bridge, it needs to be lowered so the convoy can proceed."

Move through the shanties underneath the bridge until one of your squad mates points out that the anti-air gun has spotted your movement. Your objective is to eliminate all the Helghast in your path to it, so you can seize the gun for the ISA. Utilize the points of cover to slowly work through the Helghast defenders, moving forward each time you eliminate a few soldiers. You need to get close enough to shoot the anti-air gunner. Until you kill him, the fire will chew your squad up. The most efficient way of doing this is to follow the concrete barriers as they snake along, taking out Helghast along the way. When the concrete ends, rush to the sheet metal cover that sticks up from the ground in the middle of the area. You can get a good shot on the anti-air gunner from there. Be wary of any remaining forces, though, when you take aim.

With the guy dead, now you can use the gun on the Helghast forces that begin to mount a counteroffensive through a building connected to the western edge of the bridge. Hop into the anti-air gun and turn it around so as to face the next section underneath the bridge. Start firing on the Helghast, keeping an eye out for any red explosive barrels that can help eliminate more enemies at once. Don't toy around, though, as rocket troopers can wipe you out if you're not careful to kill them quickly. Walk to the building where the Helghast you just defeat were streaming out from and take the stairs inside up to the top of the bridge.

Bridge West: "With the bridge now lowered, the ISA convoy advances with one final push to secure a route to Visari's palace."

Upon reaching the top of the bridge, turn the valve to allow your ISA buddies to access the western half. You need their help in pushing back the Helghast from the bridge. If you start picking off enemies without letting them through, the Helghast will just keep spawning. Plus, you can't get out onto the bridge until your guys unlock the door. When they do, head outside and start engaging the Helghast. You want the APC to move forward, so make a push for the first pillar on the left side. That will bring the APC up and support you with cover as you engage the forces at the bridge's edge. Use the same tactic to push to the next pillar; just don't run around the bridge, particularly the middle because the machine gunners will riddle you with bullets. If they don't, the rocket troopers will blow you to bits. The easiest way to get rid of them is bring the APC forward to fire shells at them. After the second pillar, move up the first vertical makeshift point of cover. At that point, the vehicle will be within range of the machine guns and rockets. Wait a few moments for them to clear it out, then the bridge is yours. Regroup at the buggy when instructed to head over to Radec Academy.

Radec Academy: "General Radec is said to be in the Academy. Can Alpha Team advance fast enough to capture him?"

The second half of the level starts in front of the Helghast military academy. [SYMBOL #18: Above the front door of the Academy is a symbol] Walk from the buggy into the school. [SYMBOL #19: Above the front door of the Academy on the inside is another symbol.] As the doors shut behind you, listen to your squad members discuss the plan for ratting out Radec. [INTEL #11: In the antechamber of the Academy, search the left side in front of the pillar nearest the door for the intel.]

When the door opens and your guys go through it to the next room, hang back. [SYMBOL #20: As soon as you enter the second room of the Academy, zoom in and shoot the symbol on the far wall directly across from you.] The Helghast have set up an ambush that you don't want to get caught in by rushing in on the first floor. Instead, go up the stairs on either left or right sides of the door to reach the balcony that surrounds the next room. Peak through the door to take out the Helghast—particularly the rocket troopers. There are two on the left side on the balcony, one on the right. Another rocket trooper is on the ground floor. Take care of him after you've killed the three on the balcony. By the time you get that last one, all of the forces in the room should be cleared. Garza will hack open the door at the end of room. Go through it and up the stairs to enter Radec's office. [INTEL #12: A briefcase is sitting on Radec's desk.]

Academy Rooftop: "After failing to locate Radec, Alpha Squad finds itself under attack from an enemy they had managed to escape earlier."

After the scene, you're left alone to battle the ATAC on the roof of the Academy. Destroying it is a matter of shooting the electric rods lining the rooftop to stun it, then blasting it with rockets. The ATAC must be in the vicinity of the rods when you shoot them, otherwise it won't be electrocuted. As soon as it's stunned, switch over to the rocket launcher (there's one located next to the pillar you begin the level at) and fire at it. You can get in two shots per stun, if you're quick. Remember that you have to load a rocket before each shot.

VII. Suljeva Village

"Alpha rendezvous with Evelyn Batton at an abandoned mining village. They need to use the antennas in order to scan through the highly static storms that rage constantly."

[INTEL: 3]; [SYMBOLS: 5]

Badlands: "Escort Everlyn Batton to the mining facility's main control room."

The first portion of this mission is a cake walk due to the fact you don't encounter any Helghast. Your goal is to escort Evelyn to the mining facility's control room, which is easily done by following the waypoints established at regular intervals. Just press up on the directional pad to highlight where you need to go. [SYMBOL #21: Go down into the first ravine you see at the beginning of the level. A symbol is hanging on a cylindrical object underneath the sheet metal bridge.] [INTEL #13: After crossing the sheet metal bridge, follow the edge of the ravine all the way to the left. There's a briefcase behind the metal wall at the end.] Listen to Evelyn assess the situation upon reaching the control room. Take the elevator down to the ground floor of the complex when she's done. Exit and proceed to the crashed Intruder. Rico has a few words, then it's off to find the antenna. [SYMBOL #22: A symbol hangs from the top of the highest smoke stack in the center of the abandoned complex.] Head to the part of the complex to your left as you look away from the control room. Reach the waypoint to trigger your next objective.

Suljeva North: "Sev and Rico search the ruins of the mining facility for the missing ISA scout party."

Before you can activate the antenna, you need to find the controls to unlock the door leading to it. Hit up your waypoint on the directional pad, which points you to the opposite end of the complex. There's a maintenance room there that you can now enter. Rico will bash it open, allowing you to go inside and discover the missing scout team. [INTEL #14: Before pulling the switch, grab the briefcase on the ground to the left of it.] Pull the flashing red switch to unlock the door to the path leading to the antenna.

Maintenance Office: "After their grim discover it's clear that Alpha is no longer alone."

The door exiting out of the building opens shortly after you pull the switch to reveal newly arrived Helghast forces. Making your way to the antenna won't be as easy as you may have hoped. Three enemies are directly outside the door, so unload on them and start making your way to the maintenance building that you just unlocked. A couple more enemies are perched on the walkway running through the middle of the complex; stop and kill them before moving further. Go underneath that walkway to encounter about half a dozen Helghast in the center of the complex; most are on the ground, a couple above on a catwalk. Chuck a grenade to kill or disperse the units on the ground, then aim at those on the catwalk. You should have enough time to kill those on the catwalk before the enemies on the ground resume engagement.

With these enemies gone, you can move up to fight the batch of enemies surrounding the maintenance building. There are already a few guys wandering about, but a few more will come out of the building as you approach it. If fighting on the ground proves too difficult, climb up stairs to the walkway before this section and take out the enemies milling about before approaching. That will lighten up resistance so that when Helghast stream in, you only have to deal with those few forces. As you enter the maintenance office, note that there are Petrusite-infused spiders that crawl about randomly. While not especially dangerous, they can be a nuisance and startling if you're not paying attention. Shoot them whenever you see them so they don't annoy you. [SYMBOL #23: Head down the left side to find a symbol over a door there.] Work your way through the hallways to exit into the adjacent mining facility.

Vojislav Mining Facility: "Despite some heavy resistance, Sev and Rico press onward to activate the antennas in order for Evelyn to scan for traces of Petrusite."

As you exit the maintenance office, you may see a few red lasers appear: snipers. YAY! Stick to cover. Any prolonged movement out in the open is certain to get you killed. The key here is to take cover, peek out to tease the snipers into revealing their location, then using the to quickly pop up and fire at them. You have to be quick as you take them out, otherwise they'll get a shot in first and kill you. There are four snipers in the first area: two in the shanties to the left and two on the right. An easy way of dealing with them is to run to behind the shanties on the left. Walk up the sheet metal ramp and melee the first sniper. Turn around and fire on the second one higher up on the shanties. Next, you can shoot the remaining two across the way. Move further into the facility, encountering more enemies (no more snipers, thankfully) in the area through the rocky archway. Eliminate those Helghast closest to you first, then press forward as they are taken out to get the ones farthest away.

When all enemies have been killed enter the building. [SYMBOL #24: Inside the building, take a right and you can shoot the symbol hanging from the wall in the alcove.] Use the stairs to get to the antenna control room. Unfortunately, it's broken; you need to manually power up the antenna by heading up the scaffolding outside the control room. Eliminate the two soldiers and start walking up the ramp to the control valve. A pair of security drones appear through the scaffolding, just keep your distance and fire at them until they explode. If they're taking a lot out of you, just backtrack until you recover some health and engage them again. Turn the valve up the ladder and start making your way back to the Evelyn and the rest of Alpha Team at the control room in the Badlands.

Of course, it can't be as easy as just strolling back to your guys. The moment you emerge from the antenna controls, a swarm of Helghast descends upon the mining facility. All take positions at ground level, so you don't need to worry about routing out soldiers in the shanties lining the main path. You do, however, need to concern yourself with cover. There's little good cover on the main path; as such, you can either take your chances engaging the Helghast head on down the central path or do some flanking on the right side. Either way, you need to chew through a dozen Helghast between the rocky archway and the entrance to the maintenance office. For weaponry, the boltgun is a great choice because it's a one-hit killer and has an exploding round so if you miss your mark, you may still get a kill. Finish all the Helghast in the area, run back through the maintenance office, and emerge in the abandoned facility.
