Alien Archivist - 20 pts

If you've been following along the path to the other three achievements in Mothership Zeta you already have this achievement by now, but if you just like to skip ahead here's the deal on Alien Archivist. As witnessed by the various folks you come into contact with while adventuring on the alien space craft, these pesky aliens have been abducting folks from all walks of life and various time periods in Earth's history. The one thing that all of these abducted people have in common is that at some time while on the ship an alien has stuck a recording device in their face and forced them to talk into it. They they usually shock the abductee but that's not a given. The Alien Archivist achievement is given for finding all 25 of these Alien Captive Recorded Logs. You don't have to listen to them, you just have to collect them. To collect them you must activate an alien switch below a hologram which looks like a bunch of blue circles bunched together. Luckily they all look alike, so once you see one, you know what to look for.

The easiest way to get all of the logs is to follow the walkthrough for the rest of the achievements in the DLC as certain logs will become unavailable at certain points in the DLC but if you like flying by the seat of your pants, here's a list of all of the logs and their general locations.

  • 1. Holding Cells - After you leave your cells and go to the right you'll come to your first Healing Archway. This log is beyond the archway along with logs 3 and 12.
  • 2. Cryo Lab - Work your way to the south and check the corner of the map for this one.
  • 3. Holding Cells - After you leave your cells and go to the right you'll come to your first Healing Archway. This log is beyond the archway along with logs 1 and 12.
  • 4. Cryo Lab - When you first enter the lab go left until you find the switch for the Release Mechanism. Activate then head back to the door you came in from, go past it and take the stairs on your left down and into the room you just opened up.
  • 5. Engineering Core - Southern part of the Core, near a door to the south. Found along with Logs 6, 7, and 8.

  • 9. Experimentation Lab - In the same room with Log number 10 you have to take out a generator to proceed. Doing this frees some Abominations in the next room as well as opens access to it. Log number 9 is in this newly opened room.
  • 10. Experimentation Lab - In the room with the generator that must be taken out to proceed. This room looks on into a room where Abominations are being dissected in work tables.
  • 11. Cryo Lab - At one point you'll get to a room where you can hit a switch and freeze all of the aliens in the next room. Doing so will open the door to the next room which you can then walk through and into the room with this log and log 17.
  • 12. Holding Cells - After you leave your cells and go to the right you'll come to your first Healing Archway. This log is beyond the archway along with logs 1 and 3.
  • 13. Research Lab - To the left of the staircase leading up to the suspended space capsule.
  • 14. Holding Cells - Come out of your cell and take a left and head to the room at the end of the hallway. This log is in this room along with logs 15 and 22.
  • 15. Holding Cells - Come out of your cell and take a left and head to the room at the end of the hallway. This log is in this room along with logs 14 and 22.
  • 16. Cryo Storage - Go all the way west in Cryo Storage, then enter the western part of the room and go down the stairs and to the southern corner of the room.
  • 17. Cryo Lab - At one point you'll get to a room where you can hit a switch and freeze all of the aliens in the next room. Doing so will open the door to the next room which you can then walk through and into the room with this log and log 11.
  • 18. Biological Research - Go to the northernmost part of the room and it's down in a recessed area.
  • 19. Waste Disposal - The Waste Disposal section is a one-shot trip as once you exit it, you can't come back. This log is in the large, open area where you fight a bunch of aliens after Sally mentions how quiet it is. Once you're done fighting you meet back up with Sally and follow her out of the area, so if you don't have it once she starts leading you to the teleporter, go back for the log.
  • 20. Experimentation Lab - In the northern room with the two torture chairs.
  • 21. Research Lab - While in the Research Lab you'll come across many rooms with robotic horses in them. This Log is in the first robot horse room.
  • 22. 15. Holding Cells - Come out of your cell and take a left and head to the room at the end of the hallway. This log is in this room along with logs 14 and 15.
  • 23. Living Quarters - In a cafeteria looking room that you have to enter to make your way around the shields set up in the hallways of the Living Quarters.
  • 24. Weapons Lab - You'll come to a large open room with a bunch of ammo, weapons and armor on a back table. The log is in this room.
  • 25. Cryo Storage - To the left as soon as you enter Cryo Storage.
