Mr. Binky’s Random Stuff: Magic of PR
In this episode, Mr. Binky provides some valuable PR ideas.
Date: Tuesday, October 23, 2007
Author: Brandon Cackowski-Schnell

Super Mario Galaxy – Nintendo invites the press and a handful of fans into the Nevada desert to launch every remaining copy of the live action “Super Mario Brothers” movie into space, thereby removing it from Earth culture altogether. Years from now, when the Galtharians invade, and crush our species under their chitinous ambulatory pods, they will describe the arrival of these movies on their planet, and their culture’s resulting exposure to them as the act of war that galvanized them against us.

Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock – In an event designed to counter the appeal of drumming in Rock Band, fans and the gaming press are invited to a pre-release event where they’re allowed to play Guitar Hero 3 and forced to spend 60 minutes talking to members of alt.music.Rush about how visionary Neil Peart is.

Assassin’s Creed - I don’t care what you do; just make sure Jade Raymond is there. Oh, you know her? Seriously? Has she ever mentioned me? No, I mean besides the restraining order. Hello?

Call of Duty 4 – Lemme think, lemme think. What haven’t we done yet with WW2 shooters? Um, we could do a paintball contest that recreates Normandy. No, no, done that one already. We could put on a production of “Springtime for Hitler”. Nah, not socially conscious enough. What? Call of Duty 4 isn’t about Nazis? Sure it isn’t. And I’m Mussolini. Good one.

Mercenaries 2: World in Flames – Two words: invade Venezuela.
