Square Enix's popular film based on the Final Fantasy VII storyline and characters, FINAL FANTASY VII: ADVENT CHILDREN won the award for Best Anime Feature at the inaugural celebration of the American Anime awards during the New York Comic Con earlier this week. Producer Shinji Hashimoto gave thanks for the award and attributed the film's win to the popularity of the characters from Final Fantasy and the series in general.
