Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion has finally arrived on the PlayStation 3 and early indications are that is just as good on Sony’s platform as it is on the Xbox 360 and PC. The only other game we considered honoring this week was Shivering Isle, the PC expansion for PC and downloadable expansion for Xbox 360 - - but at the end of the day the full blow PS3 RPG gets our top honors.

Besides delivering our 2006 Role-Playing Game of the Year winner to a whole new audience, Oblivion includes the excellent Knights of the Nine plot path, which is probably the best of the downloadable content crop – excluding the new Shivering Isles releases. Oblivion offers all the same content and richly detailed worlds and characters we’ve become familiar with to create a version of the game that can stand toe-to-toe with the rest.

For delivering the first solid RPG game for the PlayStation 3 and for throwing in Knights of the Nine for good measure, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion for the PC is named GameShark’s Game of the Week!
