While many might rail against Nintendo for the lack of quality first party Wii titles in recent months, Super Paper Mario proves that there's some great games coming out of the big N that make the Wii worth its weight in gold. If you need proof then look no further than Super Paper Mario, a game that combines platforming, role-playing and a unique way to use the system's remote to control all the action.

Super Paper Mario weaves a tale about an evil count that has kidnapped Bowser and Princess Peach in order to destroy the world. an ancient prophecy predicts that if a princess (Peach) and a dragon (Bowser) should marry then the end of the world shall surely come. The count obviously hates everything and forces the two to marry, causing a rift in the fabric of reality. One thing the count and this prophecy did not anticipate is one rotund plumber from Brooklyn and his crew of do-gooders.

Super Paper Mario combines Super Mario style platform-action with role-playing to create a pretty unique game experience, but it also combines 2D and 3D art styles that are weird, wild and fun! Performing platform challenges as well as defeating enemies will boost your score, which is directly related to how much experience you receive. Of course there's a lot more to the game than just this but you can see why the game is so awesome and so different. Nintendo once again proves that innovation is the key to success. For being so cool and for doing it with a unique style we're delighted to name Super Paper Mario GameShark's Game of the Week!
