Being a fantasy themed game, can you give us some examples of the spells and abilities available to certain troop types? Do you have any particular favorites when it comes to troops, abilities, spells, etc?

Favorite troops: Mech giants, chersus (giant tortoise with arrow bunker on top), dragons (of course), orc snipers, elven bear rider cavalry, dwarven zeppelins and balloonists, the behemoth, elf longbowmen, siege giants, trebuchets, dwarf rocketeers (awesome), dwarf hunters, demons, lightning elementals, dark elf shamans and summoners. Those are probably my favorites, but I think everything except peasant militia and perhaps light infantry are pretty cool.

Favorite spells: Fireball, Heal, Death Ray, Summon Elemental, Summon Demons, Call the Horde, Earthquake, Living Forest, Bloodstorm, Lightning, Dragonmaster, Curse, Wizard Blast, to name a few.

Favorite abilities: Dragon Breath Weapons, Teleport, Cure, Rocketeer-flight, Summonings, Stun, Heat Expulsion (Mech Giant ability, destroys anything near it). Pretty much every troop has some sort of special ability, and there are just over 100 troop types so far...!

What sort of system requirements are we looking at for Saga?

512 Megs Ram...Any Highspeed connection (I've played on Netzero Dialup though, seems to work fine) 128 MB Video Card (it runs on many 64 MB cards, but it's laggy) 1 GHz Processor.

Disclaimer: I don't know much about this stuff, and these aren't official specs. We're optimizing right now, so the specs should continue to improve. We've aimed for pretty accessible specs to target gamers of all shapes and sizes.

What's the current status of the game? When do you feel it'll be ready for launch?

Well, we're going Beta on July 5th, and we're inviting a few people in the week before. I think it's safe to say we're a Fall 2007 release; exactly when, though, is hard to say...

Any final thoughts about the game and what players can expect from it?

Players can expect to see Saga grow. We (the developers) aren't going anywhere. We've got two expansions already planned and the first one in the works, with more troops, spells, quests and features. If you think even for a minute about what a persistent RTS can become, the wheels start turning in your head and you realize that Saga has room to grow in a lot of directions.

I think it's fair to claim the title of Best MMORTS around. We intend to widen the gap even further. Thanks for the opportunity to talk about Saga. I love this game.

We'd like to thank Jason for taking the time to talk with us. You can learn more about Saga by visiting the game's official website at: www.playsaga.com
