The Indies Issue #8
The post E3 Edition!
Date: Monday, July 16, 2007
Author: James Fudge

You probably have heard of Everyday Shooter before (it was a popular title during last year's IGC competition), but the game is now on its way to the PlayStation 3. You can learn more about the original right here , but check out this E3 2007 trailer of the PlayStation Store version.

Bonus Round: TotalGaming.net

I've talked about some great places to get independently developed games in past columns like Sourceforge, Manifesto Games, Game Trove, GargaeGames, Gamer's Gate but there's one stop for games that is near and dear to my hear and that is Stardock's TotalGaming.net . Not only is it the home of the digital versions of Galactic Civilizations, Galactic Civilizations 2 and all their expansion, but it also serves as a hub for a nice mix of old games and new indie games that are a lot of fun. Much Like Gamer's Gate, Stardock's service has partnered with companies like Strategy First to deliver some great games at a decent value.

Some examples include Celtic Kings: Rage of War, Disciples II: Ultimate Edition, Earth 2150 Trilogy Etherlords I & II, and the wonderfully groovy Space Rangers 2. Games range from 9.99 to the pricier compilation packs that costs nearly 60.00. And in addition to using cold hard cash, gamers can also buy tokens (10 for 69.95). Tokens give you the added advantage of getting a decent discount. No matter what method you choose, TotalGaming.net;s titles don't use copy protection, which means that once you buy them you never need to worry about losing the game - simply re-download it at no cost. Hit the link above and learn more about this great service - it's worth checking it out.

And that's all for this week. Thanks for reading - catch it again soon. As always, questions, comments and hate mail are welcomed - send it along to jamesbfudge@gmail.com or gameshark.feedback@yahoo.com . - James Fudge
