GameTap

Moving along to GameTap, they are kind enough to give me a break by only releasing six new games for the PC download service, the best of which is the fantastic Thief: Deadly Shadows. Man this game is good. I’m not sure why it never sold very well but now here’s your chance to get this game at the low low cost of zero. Would you please download it already? Also out on GameTap is Championship Wrestling for those wanting an Epyx Commodore 64 wrestling fix (personally I preferred Mindscape’s Bop-N-Wrestle but I digress), Praetorians for those who already watched Rome on DVD and two Delta Force games, which I loved way back in the day and actually upgraded my video card just for the online play of this game.

Wii Shop Channel

Thank goodness the Wii is sticking to their usual three releases because otherwise I might have a heart attack from all the downloads. First off there’s Super C…and boys and girls C stands for “contra”…and while I’m sure people will download it, you should know it’s already on GameTap. Next we have the Genesis classic Ghouls and Ghosts and you guessed it, already on GameTap. Finally, we have an RPG game called Breath Of Fire 2 which was very well received and re-released on the GameBoy advance a mere five years ago. VC is the place to go for all old first party Nintendo titles and BoF is worth your time if you’re an RPG freak. Now let’s review in handy notebook bullet-point format what just came out:

Phew. Make sure you grab some of these games over the long weekend to pass the time. I’m more exhausted this time than I was for the E3 column, and I know you all pity me and my poor videogame-writing job. I’d write more but Metroid 3 is still sealed and calling my name, so until next week… keep your game pads on the ground and keep reaching for the Wiimote.
