Though it was released to almost entirely positive reviews, Europa Universalis III seemed to divide the fan community. Are there any lessons you've learned from that experience that you will carry over into the Roman game?
While we always try to get an overall sense of what the community wants, we have learnt that once one wish list is met, another pops up instantly. Therefore, the best favor we can do to our fan community is to stay open to their input but most importantly focus on making games that we love and that are fun to play. Our fan community now consists of more than 83,000+ members and growing every day so it seems to be an approach that works for the majority of our gamers.
Name one game, one book and one movie that people should experience if they want to get a sense of the world you are trying to capture in the Roman game.
Boardgame: Republic of Rome; Book: Adrian Goldsworthy - In the Name of Rome; Film: Gladiator
We'd like to thank Johan for taking the time to talk with us. EU: Rome is set for a mid 2008 release on the PC.
