All the latest and greatest downloads for the week ending Friday, March 28, 2008.

There’s a new Live Arcade game and you probably had the same reaction I did when TiQal was released: oh great, another Tetris puzzle clone. The thing that’s funny is that I did spend the $10 for the game and I found it quite addictive. The powerups add unique feel to the game and I’m really enjoying it having spent over 4 hours in one night playing it making my hands rather sore. Based on the leaderboards, not many people have bought it, and it’s definitely worth buying, so give it a shot.

Rounding out our Xbox 360 tour of downloadable content are six (count ‘em, six) new songs for Rock Band, all by the group Boston (Brad Delp, RIP), a price drop to FREE for a Halo 3 Map pack, and new chess boards for Chessmaster LIVE. Grab the Boston track pack and the Halo pack (only if you have Halo and Rock Band though, otherwise it would be silly).

Moving over to the just-beating-deadline PlayStation Store, we have a new Turok multiplayer map pack (which is also on Xbox) that will set you back $5, a bundle of Flow which costs $8.99, a sale on WarHawk which is only $29.99 until April 15th, all of the songs that are already on the 360 for American Idol, and finally an Unreal Tournament map pack that’s FREE! Yes, free downloadable add-on map content that doesn’t cost you a dime. Can you believe it? Awesome! Of course PSN also has the Rock Band content and a update to their poker game which will allow you to use the PlayStation Eye. Finally there’s an R-Type command demo for the PSP. Remember, when I said no more R-Type games? I still mean it even if it’s not on Virtual Console – this isn’t your father’s R-Type…this is some weird turn based game that I would avoid, even in demo form.

So, that wraps up another fun filled week of downloads. Keep your hard drives busy (I only have 10GB left on my PS3, what will I do)…and we’ll see you next week. Dan’s Picks of the Week: Rock Band Boston Pack, TiQal, WarHawk if you don’t already have it.
