Rocking out is hard. It must be. Have you seen Keith Richards lately? No way has someone who spends their life with an easy job end up looking like that. Fear not though, as GameShark.com is here to help you unlock all that you can while you rock your way across the planet. Consider us your roadies, but we absolutely will not fetch you M&M's of any color.

There are just a few things to mention before we get started. First, is that this is a guide to getting the achievements in the Xbox 360 version of Rock Band 2, however the same strategies apply to the trophies in the PS3 version, as the trophies match up to the achievements exactly. Second, the achievement/trophy guide section assumes two things. First, that you've unlocked all of the songs, which we'll cover in the next section. Second, is that you've exported all of the songs from the original Rock Band. Seriously dude, it's like five bucks for over 50 songs. Crack open the piggy bank and get it done.

Fastest Way to Unlock Songs

So, you've brought Rock Band 2 home, fired it up in hopes of playing "Testify" by Rage Against the Machine, only to find out that it's not unlocked yet. Bummer. Well, no one said that rock was easy (see Richards, Keith) but we've got you covered. There are two ways to get all of your songs, unlocked, the quick and dirty way and the long and hard, but not all that hard way.

Method #1: The Unlock Code

The easiest way to unlock all of the songs is by way of an unlock cheat code. This will get you up and rocking, but at the expense of being able to save your game, so any progress you make in the tour will be lost once you shut the console down. This method is fine if you're having a party and you want everyone to be able to play whatever song they want, but it's not the way to go for long term rocking out.

To use the code, pick the "Extras" option from the main menu. Then go to the "Modify Game" section and play the following code: Red, Yellow, Blue, Red, Red, Blue, Blue, Red, Yellow, Blue

There you go. Enjoy "Testify" you dirty cheater.

Method #2: The Song Progression

Rock Band 2 did away with the solo tour, and with it, the similar method of song progression. Oh sure, you can bounce from city to city in the World Tour Mode, and unlock all of the songs, but if you're looking for the fastest way to a full set list, this is it.
