Sports is one area GameCube has covered pretty well. Specifically, it has seen soccer ("football" for you non-Americans) titles since day one -- FIFA 2002 kicked things off and most recently Sega released its "extreme" take on the sport with Soccer Slam. There are already four soccer titles available in the US, so it's interesting to see that Sega has decided to bring another into the mix with Virtua Striker 2002, a title more popular overseas in Japan than anywhere else. Known more for its pretty visuals and feature rich design than overall gameplay, the Virtua Striker series has always played second best to titles like FIFA and Winning Eleven (in Japan) with questionable controls. However, if you're a fan of the series, you will surely be impressed by Virtua Striker 2002 on GameCube, which is the certainly best effort yet from the development team at Amusement Vision.
