THQ today announced the release of the official Monster House video game for the PlayStation 2, Nintendo GameCube, Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS. The game is based on the upcoming Monster House film by Steven Spielberg and Robert Zemeckis, and director Gil Kenan, and is scheduled for a theatrical release in North America on July 21.

Monster House as a video game brings the films 3D environments to life with action, suspense and combat that all ages will enjoy. The Monster House allows players to experience key moments of the movie as they explore the creepy house room by room. With three playable characters (voiced by the stars from the film), fans will take on adventures inspired by the movie and use upgradeable water blasters, as well as each character's unique weapon, to battle nightmarish creatures created from the house and its demented objects. In addition, the 2D arcade game, "Thou Art Dead", featured in the film can be conquered by players in the game also. You can learn more about the game by visiting www.thq.com .
