Epic Games celebrates twenty years of making games at D.I.C.E. with special lecture by Tim Sweeney, a star-studded panel, an important AIAS Hall of Fame moment and an IAA after-party sponsorship. The 2012 Design Innovate Communicate Entertain (D.I.C.E.) Summit at the Red Rock Resort in Las Vegas takes place next week.

On February 9, Epic’s founder and technical director Tim Sweeney will deliver a lecture entitled "Technology and Gaming in the Next 20 Years" at 3 p.m. in the Summerlin Ballroom.

At 4:15 p.m. in the Summerlin Ballroom, Epic president and AIAS board member Mike Capps will lead a panel entitled, "Staying Around, Playing Around." Joining Capps will be Blizzard Entertainment EVP of product development Frank Pearce, and Insomniac Games founder and CEO Ted Price. The trio will share their secrets for running viable game companies in the face of shifting trends and unpredictable markets.

During the 15th Annual Interactive Achievement Awards (IAAs), which begin at 7:30 p.m. on February 9 in the Red Rock Ballroom, Sweeney will become the newest member of the AIAS Hall of Fame. Epic Games Vice President Mark Rein will present the award, acknowledging Sweeney’s extensive efforts to drive technological innovation in video games and game engine development over the past two decades.

Epic also has multiple nominations in the running for IAA trophies including Gears of War 3 in the Action Game of the Year and Outstanding Achievement in Online Game Play categories, and Infinity Blade II in the Mobile Game of the Year award category.

Finally, Epic will host an after-party at 9:00 p.m.
