Completed Retribution
You'll have a bunch of vehicles to deal with on this one, including flyers, so you may want to bring your rocket launcher with you. Vasha wants payback in the form of a good old fashioned assassination. Turns out Marius, an EDF big-wig is in town doing some inspections and you're going to greet him Marauder style. Once you accept the mission grab a vehicle and get to the marker on your map at the EDF Cliffside Outpost. Once at the outpost you'll have a bunch of climbing to do so get out of your car and head for the closest ladder.
Don't worry too much about the EDF you see when you first arrive as they won't follow you up the ladders. Once you get closer to your target, following your map the whole time, Vasha will tell you that reinforcements are on their way but you still need to press forward to take out the EDF commander and his bodyguards. You'll have plenty of EDF troops to deal with, including two on weapon emplacements as you approach the outpost so use whatever strategy has been working for you all this time. Marius' bodyguards are the white super-EDF from the main game so they take a few more hits to go down, as does Marius himself. However many whacks it takes, kill all of the targets on your map.
Once they're all dead Vasha will tell you to run which, frankly, ain't such a bad idea. Hightail it back to wherever you parked your ride, dealing with EDF along the way. When you get back to the entrance of the outpost you'll have flyers to deal with as well as a ton of EDF vehicles. They will jack up your car if you're not fast about getting out of there. Once you're in a vehicle, and provided it still runs, make tracks for the marker on your map. Don't bother with the various skirmishes you pass, just get out alive. Once you make it to the marker you'll have some words with Vasha and the mission will end.
A Greater Purpose - 50 points
Completed Redemption
This mission takes a minute, more like 45 of them if you want to be specific, so be sure to have the time set aside. You'll have checkpoint saves during the mission in case the EDF puts you down, but they don't work if you leave the game. You're going to be taking it to the EDF this time and going past that arbitrary blue barrier that's been blocking off a third of the map so that you can rescue prisoners from the EDF internment camp before Vasha goes in guns blazin'.
Your first order of business is to head to the Burial Grounds and overload the four power terminal thingies. The EDF will be looking to stop you so be on your toes. Head to the markers on your map and use the highlighted console in each marked building to overload the power terminal. Once you use the console you have about six seconds to get out before you get caught in the explosion so don't daudle. When all four terminals are down you can now go past that barrier and make it to the first prison camp, your next objective. EDF vehicles will come after you so grab the empty EDF car at the opening of the burial grounds and make tracks. You'll hit a checkpoint shortly after leaving the burial grounds.
You'll come up against heavy EDF resistance so make it to the prison camp as best you can. Shortly after the blockade there's an empty vehicle at the T-junction so you can always switch cars there if you need to. Once you make it to the camp it becomes pretty clear that Vasha ain't too happy with your desire to spare innocent lives. Siblings. Can't live with them, can't kill them.
Luckily rescuing the prisoners isn't like the house arrests in the main game in that you don't need to drive the prisoners anywhere. Apparently freeing them so that they can get cut down in a hail of EDF bullets is enough to placate Sam. Get to the camp and then head to the markers on your map to where the prisoners are. Use your hammer to bust down the door at each cell and then move on to the next one. Once they're all busted down your objective is complete and you can move on to the next camp. There are some unmanned vehicles at the entrance to the camp you're in, so grab one and head to the next camp. Be very careful though as it's easy to go flying off of a cliff and have to rescue the prisoners all over again. Trust me.
At the second prison camp you'll have one guy to rescue in the same style as the house arrests so do so. He'll stick with you so head to the next marker on your map, but be careful not to lose your new friend. He's pretty resilient but he will stop to shoot so try to stick to linear paths. Your objective is marked on your map and boy oh boy, it's a pretty, new tank. Once you reach it you'll hit a checkpoint so take a breather and get ready to blow stuff up.
Your goal here is to get to Hugo Davies, conveniently marked on your map, and free him. Your tank can take lots of damage so feel free to pause along the way and take out medium and high value targets, just don't take too long as it's not impossible for you to die, it just takes a long time. Just be careful that you don't kill Hugo as you're out and about blowing up buildings.
Once you get to Hugo and free him you'll be told to head to the marked vehicle which is, conveniently enough, right up the hill from Hugo. At this point you'll be rocking the turret so keep your eyes open and your finger on the trigger. You will not hit a checkpoint here so if you die you'll be doing this and the tank part all over again. Just keep on shooting at anything that moves, even Maruaders as it doesn't matter if they die and keep that vehicle protected. When you start talking to Vasha again the mission is almost done. Stay alive until after the conversation and the mission will end. You'll get the "A Greater Purpose" achievement as well as 50 points and the DLC's story missions will be complete.
Marauder Action Achievements Deliverance Defenders - 20 points
Completed all Marauder Actions
There are eleven Marauder Actions in total: six demo masters, two transporters, one Heavy Metal, one House Arrest and one Marauder Raid. For the demolitions and transporters we'll cover them in the section for the "Tumbling Down" achievement. The rest we'll talk about here. Exciting! As in the main game you can see the icons for the Marauder Actions on your map however you won't know what the action is until you get close enough to it.
Heavy Metal - Once the action starts, get in the nearby heavy walker and destroy 35 vehicles. Not much to say about this one. The walker can take a ton of damage, so just stand still as much as possible due to how slow the walker is and let the EDF come to you. You should get to 35 in no time.
House Arrest - This one can be a pain as there are three hostages and they're not grouped together. Your companion AI tends to want to stay behind and fight after you free them so be sure to take out all of the EDF before you free the hostages or at least be prepared to mop up before leaving. The third hostage can be a bit hard to find but it's on the path between the two cliff walls, behind and to the left of the second house. Free them all and then prepare for the onslaught of EDF vehicles.
EDF Raid - There are three structures to destroy and over 40 EDF troops. Given the large number of both enemies and reinforcements your best bet may be to let the Marauders handle the EDF while you take out the buildings. Whatever you choose, pick something, either troops or buildings, and start knocking them down. Once all of either are gone the mission is a success.
Tumbling Down - 10 points
Beat all Pro times in Mariner Valley Demo Masters and Transporters.
There are six demo masters and two transporters to take care of for this one. For each action in this guide there's a brief description of what to do as well as a video of it being done. There are two demo masters with a pro time of twenty seconds so if the description you're reading doesn't sound at all like the demo master you're doing, it's probably the wrong one.
Transporter - 0:30
The key to this transporter is to know that even though the transporter starts as soon as you get into the vehicle, the timer won't start as long as you don't touch any of the vehicle controls. So don't move the steering wheel or touch the gas or brake. The reason you want to sit idle for 15 - 20 seconds is so that the Marauders in the area will help to take out the first EDF blockade you come to. You'll still have another EDF roadblock to deal with but that first one being wiped out will help significantly. Just follow the map, hug the inside corners and be sure to avoid the EDF vehicle as you head up the hill to your base. Hitting it will ensure failure. As your vehicle is plenty heavy, use a combination of your brakes, emergency brake and turning the wheel to stop your vehicle in the target circle without going past it.
Transporter - 1:20
Just like the other transporter, your biggest obstacle here isn't the terrain but the EDF vehicles. For this one the EDF won't be content to just sit there and block your way, oh no, they'll be coming after you too. Luckily your vehicle excels at driving along the walls of the valley. It may take a few tries to learn when and where they appear, but once you get the pattern down, completing this transporter is actually fairly easy.
