GDC 2005 Unleashed This Week!

The Game Developers Conference may not be as flashy as the Electronic Entertainment Expo, but in a lot of ways it is the more important cousin of the two shows. Why? Because GDC is where deals are quietly made in back rooms, where games are shown to publishers and the media, and where some of the biggest players in the industry reveal details on their products first. But beyond those very important aspects, GDC is where the other deals are made that make a lot of the games we play great. Physics engines are licensed, sound technology deals are signed and game development platforms and hardware technologies are shown off and supported by game developers as a result hands-on or first-hand experiences it at this show. Many of the great features we see in games we love are afforded these features by thousands of technology companies that hawk their wares every year at GDC. This year will be no different and the rewards of all this game development technology are ultimately passed on to us. Stay with GameShark all this week to read about those deals and learn about what the biggest game development trends and technologies will improve your gaming experience in the months ahead.
