Aspyr Media is best known for publishing great Mac titles, but the company is expanding its horizons as of late with plans to release several games for the PC and the Game Boy Advance. The first two game projects to come out of this initiative are Wakeboarding Unleashed Featuring Shaun Murray and Activision Anthology. We'll have a review of Wakeboarding Unleashed in the coming weeks, but today we're going to give you a little insight into Activision Anthology, a game collection for the Game Boy Advance that offers well over fifty classic Atari 2600 games in one package. The Anthology offers all of Activision's most popular 2600 games including Stampede, River Raid, River Raid 2, Oink!, Freeway, Chopper Command, Kaboom!, Enduro, Pitfall and many, many more. Players can go head-to-head via a link cable and two GBAs or be content to keep track of highscores for their own edification. Obviously this game compilation is great for old school gamers who grew up with Atari like the youth of today has grown up with their favorite systems and is also a way to show kids what gaming was like in the "good old days." The game compilation features a total of 55 games weith seven homebrew games thrown in for good measure and is a great fit for the casual nature of the Game Boy Advance.

We'll have more on the Activision Anthology for Game Boy Advance later this month when it ships - look for a review before Christmas. In the interim, visit Aspyr for full details and check out these screenshots to get an idea of what $29.99 will get you:
