All in all Greg Hasting's Pro Paintball MAX'd is a fairly decent game, mixing the fun of paintball with first-person and RPG elements.

Get your hoppers loaded, Greg Hasting's Paintball is back. With a character stat customization system, a field builder, 98 single player levels and 179 multi player field layouts and a gear selection system, Greg Hasting's Pro Paintball: Max'd is a geared up sequel to Activision's hit Greg Hasting's Pro Paintball.

With a RPG-Like customization system Greg Hasting's Pro Paintball allows you to customize your team's tactics, choose which positions your teammates will take and hold before the match starts. Permitting you to move your teammates into areas you need support in, and with a new voice command ability you can now command your team to attack positions, call out enemy locations and rush the opposing team while in game. You can also customize your main character's stats and clothing as you play in the single player tournaments, after winning each tournament you will slowly gain experience and money allowing you to raise various skills that will raise your accuracy, speed, etc. But, the stats don't seem to effect your game much, with some improvements but you really don't feel like you're growing stronger as you play. You can also use money to customize your clothing, choosing which pieces of clothing you will wear and which add-ons (Barrels, Propellants and Loaders) your Marker will use.

The overall Gameplay in Greg Hasting's Pro Paintball did not change much from it's previous release. But, the game can seem weird at times, with the addition of a cheat meter that, "Allows you to wipe away the paint from your body". Giving you the ability to avoid being taken out of the game after being shot, sometimes 3-4 times in one game. On a totally different note the controls can be completely customizable, allowing you to use which ever keys you prefer to use, and with the ability to switch which hand you'd prefer to hold your marker in.

Though plenty and diverse the maps in Greg Hasting's Pro Paintball are fairly small in comparison to other First Person Shooter games, which isn't a huge issue since they added the ability to make your own fields/maps with the new Custom Field Builder. Building your own field is fairly simple in Greg Hasting's Pro Paintball, choosing from 3 different field sizes and 37 different field objects with 10 individual textures. Building the field was simplistic, with a 3d field editor spinning the camera and placing items was a breeze. You can also upload your Fields to Xbox live, allowing you to play them online against your friends and enemies a like.

Another new feature is the ability to play in split screen mode. Giving you the ability to challenge your friends to a head to head or co-op match with out needing more than one x box or xbox live. You can also take on Career Mode with Co-Op mode, taking on the single player game with your friends giving access to a more diverse and proficient game experience over playing with none player teammates.

The graphics in Greg Hasting's Pro Paintball weren't improved much at all over the last release, and some of the negative effects heavily out weigh the good. One of my biggest complaints about the graphics in Greg Hasting's Pro Paintball is the long range visibility, at farther ranges the game seems to fade or blur out in the distance, making it extremely hard to see your opponents at times. This is also made worse when sometimes you are given very light colored jackets, making it extremely easy to see you from a distance, while your opponents have near invisibility. Another negative aspect to the game is the lack of ability to have better accuracy ratings while crouched or proning, making it almost worthless to do either.

There wasn't much in the way of sound improvements in Greg Hasting's Pro Paintball either, with a new sound track and a new voice command system that works well in single player mode but doesn't really effect the multiplayer aspects of the game. The weapon and movement sounds are all identically the same, making the sound in Greg Hasting's Pro Paintball very trivial, and nothing noticeable over the last release.

All in all Greg Hasting's Pro Paintball MAX'd is a fairly decent game, mixing Sports and Role-Playing game elements with a First Person Shooter feel. Greg Hasting's Pro Paintball MAX'd would probably appeal to hard core paintball players, but the average gamer may get confused with all the gear and stat configuration that normally don't go hand and hand with a First Person Shooter.
