Glistening fresh blood slowly oozed down the head of the statuette, caressing every curve with crimson drops before falling to the floor. They dripped into the pool of blood that was slowly snaking away from the fallen woman’s head and across the hardwood. Above her, a gloved hand held the statuette and the man attached to the hand gasped hoarsely. "Dammit... why me?"

Shock shook him to the core, as he ran his fingers through his hair. Still holding the dripping statuette, he looked down at the dead woman below him, as she lay like crumpled flower. Earlier he had posed as a magazine salesman to enter he house so he could steal some petty cash, and ended up stealing her life. "I can't get caught. Not like this!" He said frantically to himself and began to command his scattered mind to think of a way out of his current situation.

"I've got to find someone to pin it on" He mumbled softly and bit his bottom lip. He then remembered that there was someone who had left the lady’s house just before he arrived, a younger man with blonde hair who seemed the perfect scapegoat for the killer’s crime. "Someone like... him."

He looked around at the scene, and then thought to rearrange it. "I'll make it look like... he did it." He said with a smirk, as he fixed the room. For his final moment he placed the statuette, the weapon of choice, down beside the woman’s body then proceeded to leave. As cautiously as he had entered the departed woman’s home, he now exited it, and the scene fades to black.

You end up in the courtroom the next day, and your job is to defend Larry Butz. He is your friend, and the reason why you wanted to become a lawyer in the first place. What appears to be a concrete case against him actually is clay, ready to be sculpted to the true events, and to find out the true murderer. This is your job, not only to save your friend, but also to win your very first case.

If you’re into murder mysteries, then this is a game for you. Much like the pages of a book, you follow the story, gathering the evidence, and finding out the true cause of deaths through out the game, but most importantly the true killer. It is extremely linear, but that keeps the storyline flowing. Because of this, you are stuck on a set path, even if you would like to take a different one.

Due to the court systems backing up, every court case only has three days before the verdict is found. The court has primed prosecutors, ready to take on any case. Each and every one of them is blood thirsty, and willing to convict an innocent man. Some are willing to stop at nothing, even planting evidence, to reach their goals.

There are two main stages, the investigation, and the cross-examination, and depending on the case, you will have to repeat these stages each day. In the investigation you gather all the information and evidence you can, to save the defendant. This can be a bit tedious, as you may have to trade items for others, to turn a burger, into a steak, but it is worth each and every last second.

You can gather evidence by either examining rooms, which you can use your stylist to do. Another way of gaining evidence is talking to people. You will need to locate a specific item or testimony to move on. Once it is acquired you can either talk to other people to get more information, and if they are tight-lipped, you may need to present other evidence to solve this problem.

The second part is in the courtroom, which is called the cross-examination. This is where you talk to witnesses, and try and find a flaw in their testimony. You can even press them for more information, which can cause them to break down on the stand. It ends up being quite rewarding, no matter whom you are talking to you, as you are always in for a real treat. Pressing a witness will only be the first part to get them to crack, and the second part can be presenting further evidence to push them into the deep end. Arguing with a person, then having them cave is amusing and you will relish each time you do it.
