During a rather heated talk at GDC this week Spore developer Chris Hecker said a few unpleasant things about the Nintendo Wii. Today, much like other developers that find themselves feeling the heat from saying inappropriate things, Hecker found himself apoligising for the disparaging remarks and complimenting Nintendo's Wii. Hecker's remarks, part of the rebuttal period of the Burning Mad - Game Publishers Rant, took Nintendo to task for creating an "underpowered" console that couldn't handle the complicated AI of the game he's creating. The remarks were part of a rather spirited rant against Nintendo's console, which Hecker titled "Fear of a Wii Planet."
