The Pacific Campaign

ETQW’s Pacific Campaign consists of three maps – Sewer, Canyon and Volcano – which explore some of the key turning points in the battles in the Pacific Theatre of Operations.

The incidents range from Asia and Australasia , and include an attempted Strogg subterranean sneak attack, a GDF plot to destroy the orbiting Strogg fleet through disruptive electromagnetic emissions, and an improved Stroggification method that threatens to swamp the GDF with Strogg troopers.

Sewer Map Synopsis

Location: Miura Peninsula , Kanagawa, Japan

Theme: Temperate

Precipitation : None

The Strogg have taken over a sewage facility in preparation for launching an underground assault through the sewer tunnels into the heart of the city. The GDF must break through and override the sewer controls to flush the Strogg out before they can overrun the city from below.

Tactical Overview

GDF Intelligence Division have intercepted repeated reference to a major build-up of Strogg ground forces in preparation for a secret assault on a major urban target in Japan, but have been unable to determine where, and visual reconnaissance has failed to discover any Strogg surface presence near any conurbation not already abandoned or categorised as disposable. Finally, evidence of Strogg interference with the sewer system led the GDF to the Miura Peninsula of Kanagawa, Japan.

The Strogg have taken over the imposing Miura sanitation facility, and are preparing to use the sewer network for a subterranean assault into the very heart of the Japanese urban interior, rising up through the manholes and storm drains to bypass the defences. The GDF must assault the sewer lair, fighting their way deep within the interior of the facility to hack the sewer controls and drive the Strogg force away.

The GDF are attacking a Strogg base built into a sewer system. Their Primary Objective is first that GDF Engineers must construct the EMP Disruptor (Primary Objective 1). Then GDF Soldiers have to attach and arm explosives on either the North or South Sewer Grates (Primary Objectives 2a and 2b). Once either of these Sewer Grates are blown, GDF Covert Ops can move in and hack the Sewer Controls (Primary Objective 3) and achieve victory for the GDF.

As secondary objectives that aid their assault, the GDF may construct Guard Towers with emplaced Machine Guns (a and b) may capture spawn points on top of the hill at the South-East (c) and in the spillway to the North (e). Additionally GDF Soldiers can open up alternate routes by destroying the Substation Barricade (d), the Overflow Hatch (f) and the Maintenance Hatch (g).

The Strogg must delay the GDF by defending each objective for as long as possible, until the time limit is reached. Only the Strogg Constructor can disarm the GDF explosives.
