The North American Campaign

ETQW’s North American Campaign consists of three maps – Area 22, Outskirts and Valley – which explore some of the key turning points in the battles occurring in the North American Theatre of Operations.

The action ranges from Nevada, to New Jersey, to California, and include the GDF’s experiments with a Strogg Slipgate, a daring GDF intelligence raid on a partially completed Strogg stronghold, and the destruction of a Strogg water contamination plot.

Valley Map Synopsis

Location: Yosemite Valley, California, USA

Date: November, 2065

Theme: Temperate

The Strogg forces are poised to use a sinister Contaminator device to infect the region's entire water table with a morale-sapping psychotropic prionite plague. The GDF must destroy it, or let the Strogg turn the local population into mindless zombies, pliant to the will of the Makron.

Tactical Overview

Nestled deep within California’s mountainous Yosemite region, lie a number of water treatment facilities. The Strogg have covertly overtaken one of these facilities and converted it into a plague farm. Just in time, The GDF have learned of this secret Strogg plan to infect the region’s water supply with the Contaminator’s prionite strain which would destroy the mental capabilities of any human drinking it. The waterborne plague would render the entire population placid and obedient to the Strogg, allowing them to be harvested without resistance. The GDF must attack the Strogg Contaminator facility, and destroy the device.

The GDF must destroy the Strogg defences and end their bioterror threat. The GDF team will first have to construct a bridge, then escort an MCP vehicle, then hack a Shield Generator and finally destroy the Contaminator.

The GDF must destroy the Strogg Contaminator. First, GDF Engineers have to construct the Bridge (1). Then an MCP vehicle will be delivered, and any GDF class can drive and escort the MCP through the tunnel, down into the Outpost and Deploy it (2). GDF Covert Ops must then hack the Strogg Shield Generator (3), which will allow the MCP to blast the Contaminator building open. GDF Soldiers can then assault the building, and destroy the Contaminator by planting explosives on it and arming them (4).

To assist their mission, the GDF can also gain a forward spawn near the far end of the tunnel by capturing the Reservoir Spawn Point to open up alternative routes into the Shield Generator area by destroying the Sewer Grate.

The Strogg must delay the GDF by defending each objective for as long as possible, until the time limit is reached. Only the Strogg Constructor can disarm the GDF explosives.
