Date: Thursday, April 17, 2008
Author: Jeff McAllister

The folks over at GameSpot are reporting that Namco Bandai have finally set a solid release date for Soul Calibur IV and the day of delight is July 29th, 2008.

The fourth installment of the lightning quick fighter will feature some returning characters as well as some new ones in the forms of Yoda - exclusively on the 360, and Darth Vader - exclusively on the PS3. The game will ship in two flavors; the regular hum drum version and the special addition, which for an extra $20 dropped will garner you customization options, a comic and a fancy metal case among other items.

Along with the release date, there is also word that the DreamCast version of Soul Calibur will be making its way to Xbox LIVE Arcade this Summer in full HD glory. The game will feature leaderboards for its various modes, but unfortunately, it looks like there will be no online play.

Frownie face.
