In a recent interview with the TimesOnline , via the GTA Hood , Leslie Benzies, producer of Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto IV stated that the game cost roughly $100 million dollars to produce. With over a thousand people working on the game for a considerable amount of time, the costs sure do seem to add up.

“It's like making a theatre production, a few movies and an album all to fit into one package,” he says. He hasn't a clue how much GTA IV has cost to make but hazards a guess at $100m. About 1,000 people have had a hand in developing it. The perfectionism Houser and Benzies demand of their teams is astonishing.

There are plenty of interesting things in the interview about the development of the GTA IV and previous game so do yourself a favor and give it a read.
