SEGA has confirmed that its catchy maraca shaking game known as Samba de Amigo, available exclusively for the Nintendo Wii, has shipped to store shelves across North America.
Based on the popular Dreamcast and arcade classic, Samba de Amigo allows players of any skill level to compete in a variety of hip-shaking modes, including Arcade, Hustle and Love-Love, using either a Wii-mote and a Nunchuk or two Wii-motes. The soundtrack contains over 40 Samba-inspired tunes, some from the original game and some brand new to the Samba de Amigo series, ranging from classic Latin beats to Top 40 pop hits.
Samba de Amigo marks the first time downloadable content is available for a Wii disc based game with the first three-song pack available as of today. This first downloadable song pack includes Mambo Mambo by Lou Bega, I Want Candy by Bow Wow Wow and Are you Gonna to Be My Girl by Jet. Song packs will be priced at 500 Wii points and will be released regularly featuring three upbeat tunes.
