Forecasting and Analyzing Digital Entertainment (FADE) has released its annual report for 2009 for the Xbox Live Arcade market. FADE estimates that XBLA just broke the $100 million USD mark for the year ending 2009, at $103.4 million - a 34% increase from the year prior.

Top titles include the fastest selling XBLA title of all time 'Battlefield 1943' which sold over 800,000 copies in the year. According to FADE's forthcoming annual XBLA report, average price of XBLA titles increased rapidly during the year - from a $8.33 average in 2008 to $9.12 in 2009. This increase was strongly reflected in the top 10 list by revenue, with half of the titles featured at or near the $15 price point.

The Xbox Live Arcade market also became more frontloaded, due to incredible sales numbers among 'Summer of Arcade' titles such as 'Trials HD', 'Shadow Complex', and 'Marvel vs. Capcom'. 'Castle Crashers', a 2008 'Summer of Arcade' favorite, saw continued sales throughout 2009 - selling an estimated 485,000 copies during the year, bringing its sales to just under 1,000,000 units sold in total.
