You apparently can’t keep a god killer down as Sony has announced plans to release God of War: Ghost of Sparta, the latest installment in the rage fueled series, exclusively for the PSP and PSPgo.

Developed by Ready At Dawn Studios, the same team that brought God of War: Chains of Olympus to the PSP, God of War: Ghost of Sparta will combine intense action, an elaborate new storyline, and depths of scale never-before-seen on the portable platform.

God of War: Ghost of Sparta picks up after the first God of War concludes, telling the story of Kratos’ ascension to power as the God of War. In his quest to rid himself of the nightmares that haunt him, Kratos must embark on a journey that will reveal the origins of lost worlds, and finally answer long-awaited questions about his dark past.

Maybe I’m forgetful in my old age, but didn’t the first game cover Kratos’ rise to power as the God of War. You know, hence the title of the game.
