Online Features Announced for 3DS
Retro games and movies for your 3DS.

Author: Brian Rowe

Nintendo's 3DS, set to launch stateside March 27, will have full access to DSiWare, including games previously purchased on the DSi or DSi XL. A later update will add the Virtual Console to the 3DS, including games for Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Gear, and TurboGrafx-16. The latter is a little unclear as yet, since all TurboGrafx-16 HU Cards were compatible with the handheld TurboExpress. Does this mean that the current TurboGrafx-16 lineup on Wii will be stripped of CD-based games, offered as-is, or will 3DS have a completely separate lineup?

Perhaps the most exciting announcement is the ability to stream movies from Netflix, which will be compatible with Netflix on Wii. In other words, you can start your movie at home, put on your jacket, and pick up again at your local coffee shop or other wi-fi hotspot.
