Age of Conan Free and Unrated
No more silly Mature restrictions.
Date: Wednesday, May 25, 2011
Author: Brian Rowe

Following the successful rebranding of other MMOs, including The Lord of the Rings Online and Champions Online, Age of Conan is going free-to-play this summer.

Premium subscribers will have access to exclusive mounts and weaponry, but there are other considerable differences as well. For example: Free subscribers only get four character classes versus 12 for Premium subscribers, two raid encounters versus all, no Alternative Advancement, no Offline Leveling and no Sieges. As outlined in the FAQ, , players may also purchase Funcom Points to purchase gear and items at the store. Additionally, existing players can choose to remain subscribers or downgrade to a free account.

In addition to free-to-play, Age of Conan is also going Unrated. As fans of the Conan novels and comics know, Conan's world is overloaded with violence and sexuality. Unfortunately, we'll have to wait to see the new unrated content.
