CD Projekt RED has pushed the Xbox 360 version of its popular action RPG The Witcher 2, to 2012, saying that it needed to work out some legal issues with the game and that it needed a lot more time to polish the game. the game was supposed to be out later this year in North America and Europe.
The current legal battle over the game's distribution rights with Namco Bandai Games is probably the biggest reason for the delay. Namco Bandai is suing CD Projekt RED over removing the game's DRM for the European PC version. THQ is publishing the 360 version, which came as a surprise to Namco Bandai since it believed it held the rights for all versions of the game. This lawsuit only involves the European version of the game, but it seems to have caused enough trouble for CD Projekt RED to delay the game in all territories.
