Gameforge AG, a leading European provider of free-to-play online games, today announced that its number of registered users has passed the 300 million mark.

"Our current focus is on process optimization and consolidation, but our growth continues to progress unabated", said Christoph Jennen, Gameforge AG's CFO. "Although we are incredibly proud of this milestone, we are still motivated to continue our exponential growth. We are strategically expanding our portfolio and are looking for new staff - in Karlsruhe alone we currently have around 100 open positions."

Gameforge claims to have added 100 million registered users since August 2010, or more than 8 million new users each month. The company says that it expects further growth from upcoming products, including Star Trek - Infinite Space, which was announced for 2011. Star Trek - Infinite Space is the first official browser game set in the Star Trek universe.

The company handles two types of games: client-based massively multiplayer online games (MMOs) including Europe's most successful MMO Metin2, Gates of Andaron and the European version of Wizard101, and browser-based titles such as Ikariam, OGame and the upcoming Star Trek - Infinite Space.

Gameforge currently employs almost 500 at its main headquarters in Karlsruhe.
