Ecko|Code and LIONSGATE have launched a new game on Facebook based off the popular Showtime series, Weeds. Called the WEEDS Social Club, this Facebook game (You can check it out right now here ), is based on the Emmy award winning series about a suburban mom who sells pot to pay the bills. Created by Mytopia, WEEDS Social Club asks online users to become Facebook’s most prosperous cannabis cultivator and seller.

“This is not about marketing. Lionsgate’s cult features and TV shows are a natural fit for social media, and we intend to make Weeds Social Club one of the top leaders in the social gaming world,” said Curt Marvis, President of Digital Media.

Players are tasked with paying off the debt on their home or see it foreclosed on by the banks. Andy Botwin, one of the show’s lead characters, saves the day by giving players some questionable work. As players do their best in the game, they can unlock additional content to turn their houses into mansions. The game features a time-clock system for tracking growing and selling duties, to rewards players with unique missions, experience points which can be used to shorten time between sales, lower the risk of police intervention, reduce organized crime taxes, gain discounts on store purchases and increase their crops' potency.

Let's see how long it takes before someone complains about this game..
