According to a report in the New York Times, Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Amie says that consumers will soon be able to download content for the DS from the Nintendo Wii. The first game to utilize this will be Level 5's edutainment title Professor Layton, which is scheduled for release on February 10th. Gamers will be able to download new puzzles for the game, though details on how that will work are to be announced.

In the report Fils-Amie said that the DS device will be more tightly integrated with its Wii console in the future. Complete games and game samples will be able to be downloaded using the Wii's broadband connection, which can then be transferred wirelessly to the DS. Plans to expand the entertainment value of the DS are also in the works.
