New DS Announced; DSi Coming Next Year

Well Nintendo has come clean and finally announced that they are indeed releasing a brand new version of the DS handheld called the DSi. The rumours of the camera (a 3 mega pixel camera )and music playback have proven to be true as well the new DSi will feature a dual 3.25” screens, increasing the size 17% over the original.

The new DS will also feature a SD card slot, a built-in browser, but sadly the Gameboy cartridge slot has taken a hit and been removed. The new DSi will first appear in Japan starting Novemeber 1st 2008 and will not make its way to North America until late 2009.
