JoWooD Productions and Dreamcatcher have announced the Nintendo DS adaptation of Agatha Christie’s classic murder mystery crime novel, The A.B.C. Murders, in which master detective Hercule Poirot, and his close friend, Captain Hastings, race to solve a bizarre series of murders and apprehend the elusive madman responsible.
Originally published in 1936, the book was later adapted for the 1965 film The Alphabet Murders with Tony Randall as Hercule Poirot, and a TV series in 1992 staring David Suchet. On 28th October 2009 Christie fans will be able to experience the book from within when the game launches for Nintendo DS and Nintendo DSi.
The game adaptation casts players as the diligent Captain Hastings, assisting Poirot in the search for the victims’ killer. Using the touch screen controls, players will be able to inspect crime scenes, question suspects, and draw conclusions of their own in an effort to catch the murderer before he strikes again.
