Nintendo has revealed that the Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Versions of the recently released Nintendo DS games are quickly becoming the fastest selling DS games ever in Japan. Following a record-breaking presale that saw 1.88 million units sold in Japan, initial sales over the first week of the games’ launch have totalled 2.55 million.

Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version introduce a generation of never-before-seen Pokémon characters featured in a new storyline set in a brand new region. Fans across Japan stood in long lines when the games launched last Saturday, eagerly awaiting the opportunity to become the first to play the new adventure.

Immediate sales show no signs of slowing, and with an international launch set for spring 2011, Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version video games are on pace to becoming the best selling in the Pokémon franchise’s history.
