The game supports online play, single card play and multiple card play and with the online leaderboards, the replay value is pretty much endless. The collectibles in the game rival that of Soul Calibur – there’s just so much you can earn and it definitely has that ‘just one more event’ feeling making it quite an addictive game. Releasing it in an Olympic year probably doesn’t hurt either as how often would you play archery if it weren’t for the Olympics? Konami has set up a website where you can join “teams” of players and you can view your scores outside of the game and see whose best. It’s really nice touch for a handheld game.

Scoring this on the Vault system, the game would get a 9.0. The difficulty level is there providing a challenge, the game is fun, however as with all sport games such as this, it can be difficult to control unless you’re sitting down at a table. Don’t let that stop you from trying it out though – New International Track & Field is the next best thing to being at the Beijing games.
