EA Closes EA Chicago
Studio behind Def Jam and Fight Night closing down.
Date: Wednesday, November 07, 2007
Author: James Fudge

Electronic Arts Inc. announced Tuesday plans to close its office in downtown Chicago as part of a company-wide cost-cutting initiative. The studio responsible for the fight Night and Def Jam franchises employed 150 full time works. EA said last week it would trim its global work force about 4 percent, laying off about 350 employees. The company plans to consolidate two development studios in England as well. EA says it will offer relocation opportunities and severance packages to many employees and that the company was not planning closures other than in Chicago and England.
