Rock Band Confirmed for Wii
Wii players finally get the chance to rock out

In a conference call made yesterday, EA CEO John Riccitiello confirmed that the musical hit game Rock Band will indeed be coming to the Nintendo Wii. Although it was speculated to happen at some point, there had been no previous confirmation to make it official.

"One of the things I'm very proud of is the partnership between Electronic Arts and MTV," he said.

"What's probably the most interesting piece right now is the coming launch on the Wii, the continued sale of the core platforms in North America and then the fiscal '09 launch across Europe against all of the SKU."

Unfortunately, no pricing or date was mentioned for its release. Rock Band has been available in North America for the Playstation 2 and 3, and Xbox 360 for sometime now, but finally Wii players will get their chance to rock out like the other system superstars.
