Sega Joins List of Hacked Companies
Surprise! LulzSec not responsible.
Date: Friday, June 17, 2011
Author: Brian Rowe

Sega's database of Sega Pass users has been hacked. Although email address and other personal information were accessed, all financial information was kept secure by a third party.

Sega is keeping its service offline temporarily. Oddly enough, LulzSec, the group of hackers responsible for numerous attacks as of late, is denying responsibility via Twitter :

"@Sega - contact us. We want to help you destroy the hackers that attacked you. We love the Dreamcast, these people are going down."
