Ignition Layoffs in Austin, Possibly Tokyo
El Shaddai seemingly unaffected.
Date: Friday, June 24, 2011
Author: Brian Rowe

Approximately 15 console developers for Ignition Entertainment in Austin, TX joined the growing ranks of unemployed game-industry workers this morning, reports Gamasutra.

The team had been working on an unannounced title, while the PC development team remains unaffected.

Also of concern is the state of Ignition's Tokyo-based studio. Current rumors indicate that the developer of El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron has also been closed.

El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron is still scheduled for a North American launch July 26, 2011, for Xbox 360 and PS3.
