Author: James Fudge

Harmonix is bullish on the future, saying today that it expects to generate $100 million in revenue for 2011, driven by the success of Dance Central and the freshly released Dance Central 2. The company said that 2011 could be its most profitable year ever. Harmonix has sold over 2.5 million copies of Dance Central since its release in November 2010.

Speaking to Bloomberg , Harmonix COO Florian Hunziker added that the expensive music licensing associated with its games has paid off in the long term, because players continue to purchase music many years after release.

The company is working on a number of music-related properties as well as a new chapter in the Rock Band series that fundamentally changes the game's formula.
