Mario Kart Preview
Mario and Co. speed onto Wii with new friends and features in tow.
Date: Tuesday, April 15, 2008
Author: Tracy Erickson

The multiplayer races showcased only represent a fraction of what's available in the full game. A solo campaign comprised of various cups enables you to unlock new characters, vehicles, and tracks. New multiplayer modes include team racing that totals up each players' individual time to determine a winner, as well as WiFi races. Battle mode also returns, although we weren't allowed access to it or any of the other modes. Given the bare bones feature set for other WiFi-enabled Wii games, we don't have high hopes for online play (Nintendo’s simply going to have to prove itself in this area before we get too excited).

With the game's late April release date right around the bend, we won't have to wait long to see the final product – expect a full review soon.
