Once the main story is over, about a seven hour run, there are multiple difficulty levels to tackle as well as enemy and weapon specific achievements that unlock various cheats. If grinding isn't your thing the game offers a full suite of 13 different multplayer modes supporting up to 12 players at a time. You can either jump into a match with friends, provided you've exchanged codes, or simply pop into a regional or worldwide match.
Game types range from classic deathmatch games to ASE Football where the goal is to kill the guy with the ASE and then take it yourself , to a bounty hunter game where you're given a particular target and killing the wrong target penalizes you. If team games are more your thing a bevy of team objective game types and team reaper games await. The visuals aren't as striking when in multiplayer and I did have some early connection problems as well as one dropped game, however most of my multiplayer matches were lag free and well executed. Once the match ends and players are dumped into the lobby they can vote on options for the next match or just sit back and see what comes. As you play matches you gain experience allowing you to gain ranks however this doens't seem to have any effect other than just changing the badge next to your name in the lobby.
The Conduit is a tough game to review when you take everything into consideration. Is it the best console shooter out there? No and certainly not when compared to more visually arresting and cinematic experiences such as your Killzones and your Calls of Duty. Is it the best shooter on the Wii? Absolutely. Does it provide a technically impressive and challenging experience for those that don't live and breathe the shooter lifestyle? You betcha. The Conduit may not redefine the shooter experience, but it's got a good beat and I can dance to it and sometimes that's all you need.
