Wii Sports Resort Review

Bringing grandma into videogaming one sword hit to the noggin at a time.

.) Wakeboarding - surprisingly complex with your approach speed and angle determining what tricks you do. Fun for a diversion but nothing I spend a lot of time in.

.) Frisbee - throwing a Frisbee for your dog to catch brings back good Nitendogs memories however I wish there were courses or more obstacles. Frisbee golf is a pass as I'm terrible at it.

.) Archery - probably the best overall offering in the game. My only gripe is that I wish there were more courses however shooting all of the hidden objects in every difficulty level is going to be hard enough.

.) Basketball - the three point contest is oddly addicting where the three-on-three pick up game moves too slowly. That and I got dunked on by Michael Jackson. Ouch.

.) Table Tennis - Vs mode is solid and the return challenge is a hoot.

.) Golf - increased responsiveness doesn't make it any better than the original outing. Still my least favorite of them all.

.) Bowling - 100 pin bowling is as much fun as it was before, only now it's easier to find. The increased motion capabilities certainly help with hooks and spins.

.) Power Cruising - Very, very easy to over steer. I can take it or leave it, and usually I leave it.

.) Canoeing - gets my "Nicest Surprise" award. Insanely addictive with the right "just one more race" feel. Easy to cheat in vs mode due to no real penalty for cutting corners in the races. Will tear your marriage apart if done cooperatively.

.) Cycling - the less said the better. Skip it.
